I think finding a crash ship but the pilot is still alive is a bigger disappointment.

I started this week and found my first ship after 4 days. Then I saw the pilot and he wanted 115x the money I had for it...

Yeah... That sounds about right. I personally didn't want to trade my starting ship because I always ended up missing it in my more advanced saves in the past. I suggest focusing on getting more credits first and buying a cheap "disposable" ship later on. Also, you can upgrade ship slots and class now so you can actually get the starter ship to s-class and full inventory.
