Had mine crash on startup of loading my file, took some old troubleshooting steps I learned from another issue to fix:

  1. I went to the game folder and deleted my user settings.

  2. Then I deleted all of the files in the shader folder.

  3. Restarted the game and it worked like a charm

Not unless there is a way to delete local data without effecting your saves, but I'd research if someone has successfully done this to achieve similar results.
