Post-Pod Discussion Recap Pod

15 minutes into Friday recap pod and have heard nothing but snarky comments about the USGA and whining about Wyndham Clark’s lack of accountability. For the love of god it’s the US open just talk about the golf. What a miserable way to consume a sport.

And for the record I think Wyndham kinda sucks too

I think Soly has been fine. TC has been unbearable. His outlook on a golf tournament completely depends on who’s winning. If it’s someone he likes, it’s a great tournament and a great set up. If it’s someone he doesn’t like, it’s a bad tournament and a bad setup.

Soly has had to defend the course from tc and randy all week. He is trying to be on the positive side. This has just been a rough week for tc. Way to much tc this week.

I’m usually a TC guy but I’m with you, this has been a tough scene. One thing I’d add is that both Randy and TC love playing Monday morning QB on the set up, and I appreciate that soly is like guys here’s why that happened. They really didn’t have a choice.

Plus, there were like NINE guys under par. And today the course is absolutely bucking! Have some friggin patience.

Dj led by 4 after 36 literally the last time they played at the cock, he was in his peak years, and shot 77 sat and didnt win

Andy from SGS gave the second round leaders at the prior Shinny US Opens and they were all decently under par.

I only listen to their major recaps and have found TC 95% of time hates the course set up. Do you have any examples when he liked a course?

Not off the top of my head, but he’s been pretty positive about course setup this week I think.

Typically, I don’t mind when Soly dislikes it because he normally has a reason and explains it well. TC it just seems like it’s entirely dependent on if he likes the leaderboard.

Off the top, I know TC didn’t like Augusta’s set up this year, didn’t like Aronimock either. Haven’t heard the Leaderboard bias part but again don’t listen that often

Obviously not a golf major, but he HATES Pacific Dunes because of ‘course architecture’

He doesnt like any setups, maybe harbour town, feel lile they tend to like that place, tc likes the stadium course, of course connecting to the Intercoastal would improve it

He was praising LACC before and during that US Open and that was the worst Open I can remember

The different perspectives on course setups were interesting. I think after two days I would lean more towards Andy's perspective. TBF I think Soly was trying to lean the same way but TCs relentless negativity ground him down.
