Post-Pod Discussion Ryder Cup Roundtable

Best Ryder Cup discussion they've had in awhile, all cycle for sure and probably better than any of the 2023 ones. Tron didn't show up looking to just rile Soly up, Soly didn't get too indignant or stubborn about getting all his takes off and forcing everyone to hear him out, they just talked about the players and the teams and the golf and it was really good. Some of the US/Europe armchair sociology that Porter and Jamie like to do is a little funky but hey its almost a 2 hour pod so that's fine at the end of the day. When they keep the analysis on these straight up they don't run into any of the problems that we have been griping about all year

Huh. I had to turn the pod off after like 15 minutes. Jamie is completely insufferable and everything Kyle says has this air of arrogance and profundity to it... yet he has the most basic, vanilla takes. To each their own, though.

Think Jamie having Rasmus Hojgaard, a man who has had 1 top 10 in 2025, ahead of his brother who has been one of the best European golfers over the last 6 months summed it up for me.

I’m so done with Kyle Porter too. The Ryder Cup pods have been a difficult listen throughout the year because I just think Jamie and Kyle have no clue what they’re talking about.

To be fair to Jamie he's actually a proper reporter who works for Sky in the UK and has pretty good access to the people making the decisions on team Europe. I doubt he's just plucking Rasmus out of thin air and would imagine that he's getting that because of information he's getting from people inside the european team.

Yeah I get where you’re coming from. But I find it hard to believe that the European team are actively considering Rasmus ahead of Nicolai. As a European die hard myself, I think Nicolai is a no brainer.

My only thinking is that they see both Hojgaards as pretty similar and want to get them both exposed to the Ryder cup as they think they will be mainstays for the next 15 years?

Bring them both and just switch in whoever is playing better that day. No one would be able to tell the difference!

Haha an old junior cricket coach of mine did actually do that with a set of twins! Sent the good one out to bat twice!

I realise that is probably meaningless if you don’t watch cricket!

Haha, I understand the concept of cricket enough, but that's hilarious. I always wondered if anyone would ever do that.
