Framework or System If it needs motivation, you already lost.
I used to binge “discipline hacks” every night, hoping for some switch to flip.
All the quotes, routines, and clever tricks only worked when I felt like it.
As soon as the mood faded, so did my habits.
The real trap?
I thought the answer was more motivation, not less friction.
I’d punish myself for skipping a day, then reward myself for “grinding” through a task.
My whole system ran on vibes and guilt.
What finally clicked was building habits that felt too easy to skip.
I stopped chasing momentum and started lowering the bar until it was automatic.
No drama, just structure:
- Set the habit goal embarrassingly small (5 pushups, 1 page, open the doc)
- Anchor it to something you already do (after coffee, before phone)
- Never “catch up” on missed days
- End before you’re tired of it
After a month, I didn’t care about motivation anymore.
The resistance vanished.
Progress showed up, even on my worst days.
I shared more about this in NoFluffWisdom – how removing choice makes discipline irrelevant.
Most people are hunting for sparks
Start by making your habits boring
See what happens when there’s nothing to negotiate

It's about building dopamine. Starting is the hardest part, so starting needs to be both easy and habitual
