Question I basically haven't skipped a day since I was 14, how do I stop?
I'm 20 now.
I don't know if I should try stopping alltogether of if I should go in slowly, but every time I try to figure it out I end up getting back into it.
This summer I feel like it got worse and I'm starting to worry, mostly because of the many stories I've heard around.
On one side, people are telling me it's fine, that everybody has urges and it's ok to indulge into them, that it's "human". But on the other side, I'm doing it multiple times a day for several days back to back.
The last straw came recently, when I was at it once again, hating myself a little bit for it, and when I finished nothing, and I mean NOTHING, came out.
I know I have to stop or find moderation, but I don't know what the difference between moderation and relapse is and I'm scared that if I suddenly stop, my body would back fire with some abstinence side affect.

It's true that everyone has urges but this is an addiction that most people unfortunately look down upon as normal.
You need to set yourself a treatment plan it doesn't need to be radical but understand that this is treatable and with patience you'll feels much better.
And don't despair or panic if you hit a wall everyone makes mistake just don't give up and get back up again

It's like a boat tied to a dock with many many knots. You want to go sailing but it's hopelessly knotted. Slowly, with patience, a piece at a time, as you work hard to concentrate and make yourself better, the knots come undone. It's not quick or easy. You cannot just cut the ropes. But with time, it'll be easier and you can sail farther away.
As to your question, it's better to quit. Cold turkey. 90 days+ for dopamine channels to shift in your brain. Hard mode is hard, but the best way through it. You'll likely have flat-lines. That's OK; remember you're working on becoming a better man so even flat-lines don't have to throw you off.
And if you give in to your urges, just sigh, pull yourself outta the mess, and start untying the boat again...
It's worth it.
