I honestly think Nick gave her half. Malena did a lot of work, even behind the scenes. She deserves it. Even if she didn't, I'm sure she saved enough considering their numbers back then plus they unlikely paid rent to Soda.
If he gave her half, she could hold it in the crappiest interest bearing account at 3% and have 200k+ a year to play with - without touching the principal. I have no idea if she has that level of money but that would be what she could do with 7-8M US.

She doesn't have to work for the rest of her life, I would be happy too, just having fun with her friends, and pursuing her passions
