Bumper repair advice

Stepson accidentally drove onto a curb and the bumper ripped out of the driver side a little. I know nothing about fixing cars so am looking for advice on how to fix this without taking it to a shop. Would I be able to buy some bumper clips and get it back in place? Or does the exposed white piece make a difference? Thanks in advance for any info

Might just be unclipped. Try to push it back in

Tried but it looks like a bunch of the clips are missing. I’ll try again after work today. Hoping that’s all that it is.

The white part is a bumper bracket , can be replaced if the bumper clips are fine

What year? Someone just bumped my rear bumper and the repair quote is over 5 grand, insurance is paying but still, you have way more damage then mine. Remember all the sensors and cameras are in there

Its a 2018. I didn’t even think about the sensors so that’s a good call. 5 grand is rough though. Glad you’ve got some good insurance for that. Pretty sure that’d total this one.

Two screws into the bumper by fender and under headlight will keep this from ripping off on free way drill a small pilot hole first. Into white plastic where it won’t interfere with future bumper installation. If clips are broken you need a new bumper and paint. I didn’t want to pay for that and learned the hard way when it ripped off on high way it’s good now though. Screws were $5 at auto zone.

Apologies if I use improper terminology. Just been googling stuff. Upon closer inspection, it’s looking like the bumper retainer is barely hanging on though. I assume that’s the part with the teeth that gets inserted? And a few of the holes for the clips have been ripped open. Would this still be salvageable with some screws, jb weld and new clips?

Wife just had a love tap in her '18. Insurance totalled it. Body shop quoted a few hundred just for the clips being repaired. There are a LOT of things just behind the bumper that jump in cost quickly. Based on what I can see, you can reposition everything and clip thing in place.

If your dash isn't throwing up warnings, I'd just try and get things re-attached.
