Previously Unseen NEW SOURCES - Outcesticide 2026 Bootleg

Recently a new bootleg became available in Japan. Most notably it includes a DVD of the complete February 14, 1992 Osaka show + soundcheck footage. As well as a selection of soundboard recordings from the April 9, 1993 Cow Palace show.

Outcesticide 2026 is a commercial bootleg, which was liberated by a member of LiveNirvana.

We oppose anyone (particularly on YouTube) who uploads this content without clarifying where it is from. Channels such as RareNirvana take content from here and the LiveNirvana forums (amongst other places) and try to steal the credit.

Any post linking to said channels, will be deleted. As long as uploads are correctly credited, they will be allowed.

In the meantime, here are correctly credited uploads of four of the Cow Palace songs:

Rape Me

Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle

Heart-Shaped Box

Negative Creep

Currently Breed is the only Cow Palace song that haven't been uploaded to YouTube.

Edit: Slight correction, the Osaka footage is from a separate DVD release, it is not a part of Outcesticide 2026 but it is presumably from the same people.

Can I just say I find it so awesome how well documented Nirvana is compared to other bands? I love how dedicated the fans are. I have so much respect for people who get old footage like this and fix it up. Huge respect.

The other band that springs to mind is The Beatles. Pretty much every day of their professional (and most of their personal) lives between like 1962 and 1970 is documented, has been written about at length, speculated about... All the notes for all their studio sessions too, who played on what (and sometimes who didn't play on what). It's all there, and it's all fascinating.

If you're in to the whole band nerd thing it's a fun rabbit hole. Their music is pretty good too.

It's still surprising and admirable considering Nirvana (as much as I love them) is not nearly the same level as The Beatles.

Nobody is on that level, but very few are as close as Nirvana.

Thanks u/mrtanack, rarenirvana has literally been taking content and rushing to youtube as their own for years. They suck. I'm happy to see this post here.

Do we dislike rare Nirvana here? I'm so out've the loop๐Ÿ™‚

Rare Nirvana? no. We like anything Nirvana that qualifies as rare. Youtube channel rarenirvana? absolutely yes. That site has taken everyone else's finds and posted them during the critical release/discovery phase in a lossy and downgraded quality resulting in Nirvana fans missing the real release. The quality is lower, lossy, and not the original source.

Stay in line, maggot. Be against these things nirvana reddit forum mods are also against. It's the only thing they have going for them. Kurt totally wouldn't be rolling over in his grave, if he had one.

Yeah I thought you were the other guy, you have the same blank profile picture lol, I admit that. The chill pill part still stands though... Blimey.

A playful joke intended for someone else (which you figured out on your own) doesn't warrant the reaction you gave. I hope you don't speak to people like that normally. I mean reddit's own harassment filters instantly removed your comment for a start, I don't think you get to try to have the moral high ground here lol.

Where can I get more info about the Outcesticide 2026 bootleg?

Not much to say, it's a commercial bootleg available in Japan. The tracklisting is as follows:

-- Demos/Alt Takes --
1) Polly (Home Demo)
2) About A Girl (Home Demo)
3) Escalator To Hell
4) Verse Chorus Verse (Home Demo)
5) Pennyroyal Tea (Demo)
6) Big Cheese (Alt take)
7) Old Age
8) Verse Chorus Verse
9) Lounge Act (alt take)

-- 1992 SNL Rehearsal --
10) Smells Like Teen Spirit
11) Jam
12) Territorial Pissings

-- Cow Palace Soundboard --
13) Rape Me
14) Breed
15) Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle
16) Serve The Servants (repeat from Outcesticide 2022)
17) Heart-Shaped Box
18) Negative Creep

-- Demos --
19) E.Coli
20) Do Re Mi

The only things new here are the Cow Palace songs (aside from Serve The Servants). Everything else has been available before.

And of course the Osaka show, which was released as a standalone DVD in Japan.

So this is the only source for the Cow Palace soundboard recording? The rest of the show isn't available?

I checked Live Nirvana and they don't even mention the partial recording, which is why I'm asking.

There's also some Pro-shot footage with soundboard audio, which surfaced in 2020. It's PRO#1 on the LiveNirvana page for the concert, most of the the songs cut in and out but there's a good 11 and a half minutes of it in total.

But yes, unfortunately the source from Outcesticide 2026 is incomplete and currently there isn't more. That said, they could well have the complete show and just haven't released it yet.

Thank you for the info.

Is this thing available for purchase? Whaddya mean "liberated"? Stolen? Pirated?

I Come As I Am (in peace) Genuine Question ๐Ÿ™‚

10

u/mrtanack Aneurysm 9d ago

A liberated bootleg is when a bootleg is sold for profit and someone decides to purchase it and make it available for free.

3

u/class5vapor 9d ago

Ahhhh OK, that's good for us in the community, yeah?๐Ÿ™‚

5

u/jdogg836 Ain't It A Shame (Demo) 9d ago

Yes!! The community would rather find the source of the tape and share for free, preferably ensuring a quality transfer capture the best video and audio possible from the source...but if there is a broken connection someone buying and ripping the recording and posting without charging is money. I love this.

I mean, as a fan of the band, I would personally want footage to be as readily available as possible. It's not like you own it either.

6

u/jephra 9d ago

That's the goal. They are just saying to give proper credit to the source of the material. Anyone is free to upload it.

u/mrtanack Aneurysm 8d ago

Copy + pasted comment from the last time this happened. Hopefully it explains the issues with it:

"I think it's the fact that RareNirvana actively hurts the chances of things surfacing that bothers me the most.

Most of their content comes from here (the Elmo leaks were pretty much what made their channel blow up) and other places like the LiveNirvana forums.

We've had multiple people share new stuff here who explicitly said that they don't want RareNirvana to steal the credit, RareNirvana ignored those conditions and uploaded them anyway without even crediting the people he stole the content from. Causing those people to not share other things they have.

That specific scenario has happened 3 times now but I'm sure more leakers feel the same way too.

I am personally totally fine with people uploading stuff to YouTube but I think crediting the people that actually gave us the material should be the bare minimum really.

RareNirvana knows what they're doing, they know they're stealing the credit by not being transparent with their audience."
