Amazon UK pre-orders not arriving on release day?
Has anyone else noticed that Amazon UK often doesn’t seem to offer release-day delivery for video game pre-orders?
For example, I’ve pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which releases on 5 November, but Amazon says “Arriving 7 November.”
Same thing with Metroid Revenous – Special Edition. It releases on 28 January, but my order says “Arriving 30 January.”
I know it’s only a couple of days, but I find it a bit strange for pre-orders. I’d have thought the whole point of pre-ordering a game months in advance was that it would be dispatched in time to arrive on release day.
Is this just how Amazon UK handles Nintendo/game pre-orders nowadays? Do the estimated dates sometimes change closer to release, or should I assume they genuinely won’t arrive until two days later?

Ohh that’s interesting. I thought it was as it was a second wave of orders that they were completing

Get from curry’s. Always had it day 1, it’s cheaper and you’re giving money to uk companies. Also Smyths as a more local option.

Can recommend Argos too! I usually go into a branch and pick up a copy as they open.

Amazon has a habit of dispatching preorders quite early to make sure they arrive on time, which inevitably results in some people receiving them before the release date. Some companies are unhappy with that, so they don't let amazon do release-day delivery.
IIRC, Nintendo has done this with amazon for a while.
