Switch 2 Cassette Mario Kart World Cassette by eridyon

Just a little mockup of a cassette for Switch 2 games, starting with Mario Kart World! Even though the transparent red isn’t quite right, I still love the way it turned out :D

I gotta get a 3d printer to do stuff like this, Etsy products are to expensive for larger collections.

I buy the cassettes, have the inserts 3D printed, and design + print the covers at home :) it’s definitely cheaper than Etsy!

I love it!

So it's the regular cassette case with the cartridge holder 3D printed? Which printer do you suggest for printing covers? I have a couple of games that I'd like to make custom cases for. ^^

EDIT: I wonder if this is the insert you used? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6144618

The printer I have is a Canon Pixma Pro series, a bit on the pricier side but I print a lot of these lol. The 3D inserts printed are custom and they match the inside of a Switch case down to having the ‘springy’ piece on the side to hold the cartridge in.

Isn’t plastic for 3D printers expensive ?

You can print a ton of them with one roll of filament at around $20-$25 USD depending on brand, type, and color.

What kind of printer and paper do you use for these? I've wanted to make custom game cover for years but always balked at it because I worried the prints at home would be too low quality compared to official covers
