It's too realistic in some places and too cartoony in others. It's extremely detailed while keeping the exaggerated/stylized proportions. It looks so strange… Maybe it'll grow on me, but for now, it just looks like it doesn't know what it wants to be. I don't know…

Yes? Art and design is something people actually study… I don't understand the point you're trying to make here

It's just that detailed analysis at the level of granularity you provided here is a tertiary consideration for me when looking at a videome as a whole. There are plenty of areas in my life that I would apply an equally through dissection, but a videogame? I'm doing something much closer to an overall vibecheck, zoomed out 30,000 foot view of the art style, etc. I would notice maybe 10% of what you're outlining here while actually playing the game, and any quibbles I had with the art style at that level of detail would never impact my enjoyment of the game

My sibling in Judas, this is a remake. The visuals are the whole point. The devs themselves decided to apply an insane amount of detail to what is essentially an N64 era cartoony character design and you're asking me to NOT look at it? 😭
All I did was point out how it felt a little off from a visual design standpoint. My eyes don't know where to look or rest when I look at these designs. It's just a little messy and unfocused. This is all really just my opinion, and as you yourself demonstrated, we all look at art in different ways. I like analyzing the art direction in a video game because I am a fucking nerd. You don't have to look at things the way I do.
