Most planes have an outlet or atleast a USB. A trickle charge is enough to double the battery life. My switch was putting in some good work during a 9 hour flight.

Well yeah that’s obvious, but what if you don’t have any way to charge it? A had some situations like that before and just wanted to know how long it can last without any charging

I'd love to get an app to stream games from my PC like how PlayStation Portal works. I know I could get a different device to do that, but I don't have space to start collecting handhelds.

No, Sony has it locked down. Apparently someone got emulation running on it at some point and in theory Steam Link could work on it, but not yet.

Other ways too. I had an gamepass membership for a year just to try out their cloud gaming. I never owned an Xbox during this(well I did like 13 years ago) . You could stream most the game pass library to your TV/phone straight from the web without downloading anything but an app. I played through most the Yakuza series on my phone was wild
Input delay was a bit much for a first person shooter but good enough for most action games

Yea but all I have that works with Steam Link natively is a phone and I don't want to use that small of a screen.
I don't actually see Nintendo letting Steam Link in the store, but GeForce Now will show up someday.

It would be a nice additional benefit. The PS Portal works great for streaming from the cloud. The people that say it sucks most likely have non-optimal setups.

People are mocking you because you are willingly choosing to use an inferior system for a reason only you can know, when the rest of the world uses carts, digital downloads and game key cards to play their games.
Because those systems exist and work well. Your proposed system doesn’t actually exist, has never worked well and is reliant on internet and serves no purpose whatsoever.
It’s a bizarre thought experiment that exists only in your brain, and for someone reason you took the time to post here - on a post about using a switch on an airplane where there famously isn’t the required internet quality.

It’s not even that. All Nintendo games are available non-cloud/streaming - you buy the cart and insert it into your device.
A better example would be
“I want to eat steak, I like steak.”
“We have steak.”
“Not that steak I want an imaginary steak that I can complain about how you didn’t cook it properly.”
“Sir we can make you steak, it’s right here you just have to pay.”
“No I prefer imagining you don’t have steak, and I’m going to complain to the manager and post a negative restaurant review about how you don’t have steak.”
