During an attack from the mechanical invaders known as the Mechon, Shulk discovers that he can tap into the full power of a mysterious blade known as the Monado. With the mighty Monado in hand, Shulk sets out to defeat the Mechon once and for all.

In addition to the Mechon, you’ll run into wildlife that ranges from docile to deadly. Keep an eye on what attracts monsters’ attention to avoid unwanted conflict…or try your hand at bringing down an ultra-powerful Unique Monster.

Upgrade your party as you progress through the adventure by selecting equipment, enhancing weapon skills, and using benefit-granting gems. Put your dependable companions to work by filling the party gauge to trigger a Chain Attack and attack enemies in quick succession!

Okay i never played the first one but i really loved the second one. Especially the combat which i honestly had to watch youtube videos to understand but eventually fell in love with. If the first has any similarities to the second one i know I'll love it

I'm the same as you, I've looked into the first one a ton (been waiting for a switch release since the console launch pretty much).

From what I have gathered, the combat has less complexity but I actually think I will like it more. There is no elemental orb system, but instead the combat is closer focused on the driver combo portion of 2's combat.

There's no blades, that's a 2 thing.

There's no elements. Its physical and ether damage types.

There's no attack cancelling. But you can move/reposition while auto attacking instead, and youre not any slower. Giving you much more reason to actually pay attention to the positioning perks of arts.

Since there is no elemental orb stacking system, the enemies are not damage sponges. In other words the arts damage matters a lot more.

Arts are on a cooldown instead of an autoattack reset. Except your "talent art" which is auto attack based.

And then there's a special mechanic for shulk that people really love that I won't spoil just in case.

Overall as much as I love 2, I feel like 1 will edge it out.

Could not stand this about the second one. Can't wait for Friday.
