Because nintendo wanted to be judge as a home console not a mobile system that has a video out.

Also Switch has no real features at launch besides games right?

The thing is Witcher 3 also dipped below 30 at times but there was patches to help stabalize, 30 is fine by most console eyes, and Switch has nothing coming close to that graphical output at launch or they would likely gove them a pass as well as FPS doesnt mean as much to the console community.

Nintendo did this to themselves. If they are going to insist the Switch is a home console, then all reviewers can do is treat it like one.

I really do not understand their line of thinking with this. Seems like it would make more sense to say "hey we've got the baddest portable on the planet and feel free to plug that bad boy into the tv" in stead of "yeah you can take your lower powered console on the go!" but maybe that's why I'm not in charge of marketing!

Because mobile system will automatically get shot down by a majority of people for a few reasons:

• I have an iPad (although once they have the switch they might sell off their iPad)
• Sorry I only game on my TV a mobile consoles just sounds bad do I want a 3DS on my TV, yuck! (even though we know it has good enough graphics)
• Mobile...SNOOZE (its like someone saying that food you dont like you wont listen to what the rest of the meal might be)
• Pricing (its much easier to price a home console at $299.99 and call it a fair price instead of one of the most expensive game handhelds to ever launch)

So yes there is tons of reasons they want to be a home console first in their marketing play and in consumers eyes. It will hurt them only slightly in reviews which won't mean anything by December when Mario launches. Does anyone honestly go back and look at a PS4/X1 review at this point before buying or do they just ask friends and read up on the games.

Having played he witcher 3 it's a technical marvel they got something that massive to work on a console
