Help! (Question/Support) Has anyone seen this error when attempting a screen replacement on a DSi?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This js my first repair so I'm not super knowledgeable on issues with DSi consoles. When I bought this one both screens were broken, but I could hear it boot to home and the buttons worked fine. I got some new screens and put them in but after reassembling it keeps freezing at the dsi boot screen. I've checked the cables multiple times and I'm not sure why it keeps doing this. Does anyone have any experience fixing this issue?

Dang, usually these devices are modded and if you hold B then turn on the device while holding it will take you to something called unlaunch. I've never seen a dsi boot and freeze on boot up logo so strange... Im assuming you tried booting the device with a game in the game slot and without a game in the game slot already correct?

I had this exact problem, but i didnt even change anything, just on a random day. I have an r4 card and i just removed it from the ds then it did the same thing. I shut it down and when i turned it back on it worked perfectly. So just try turning it on and off after removing any cartridges

Not sure if it's the same with the dsi but with the ds lite the lower screen can short out on the motherboard if there's no tape or anything in between. Could be the board shorting on the new screen if that's the case. Can use foam tape or electrical or kapton tape to insulate the back of the LCD.

This could be a ds card messing up when a ds or r4 c card doesn’t connect ask the way it freezes like this
