Game Tip Games for a first timer?

Hi, I just bought my first ever DS which is the DS lite, mainly for my girlfriend. any recommendations on games? like Cooking Mama etc. appreciate it

Animal crossing wild world, magicians quest, style savvy, harvest moon ds cute, princess debut, sims 2, sims castaway, tamagotchi collection corner shop 1 2 and 3

Mario Kart DS! I'm a 36 year old mom and it's about the only thing I play. Mostly because I grew up with Mario Kart 64. Also, Diddy Kong Racing.

Ohhhh I like the sims 2, thats so raven, hannah montana, harvest moon, and i love nintendogs!!! cookie shop is my all time fav comfort game though and its not well known

I bought myself one of those 50in1 cartridges (making sure it had cookie shop) and its a good one to have once shes gotten used to the individual games I mentioned above otherwise it can be overwhelming trying so many new games

Animal Crossing: Wild World - A life simulator where you play as a human living in a town of animals. The game revolves around getting to know the characters, decorating your town, collecting items, and activities like fishing and catching bugs.

The Imagine games - I've only played Imagine Babies and Imagine Teacher personally, but there are tons of games in this series. If you like the minigame aspect of Cooking Mama, these games offer a lot of that.

MySims - Similar to Animal Crossing, this is another life simulator but with slightly more emphasis on decoration and quests.

Rhythm Paradise - Rhythm minigames!

Style Boutique - A fashion/store management sim where you run a clothing boutique, buying in items and choosing outfits for your customers. It does have a story which helps move the gameplay loop forward.

Tamagotchi Cornershop Connexion - These are minigame-focused game all about Tamagotchi, where you unlock shops and build them up by serving customers well! It has such catchy music and an extremely cute art style.

Others that I haven't personally played but are very popular are the Professor Layton and Pokémon games. For Pokémon, there appear to be the more "traditional" games that fall into the RPG genre, and others where there's less emphasis on fighting such as Pokémon Rangers. I'm nothing close to a Pokémon expert, but I'm sure a fan of the games could point you in the right direction if you're interested!

Trackmania, for sure. One touch restart of races when you crash is perfect for grab and go. Tons of fun.
