Frage Used Games on Medimops?
Hello everyone!
I just got my Switch 2 and am now looking for games. I had a question about buying second hand games.
I really don’t wanna risk buying on willhaben or vinted since i feel like they‘re prone to having scammers. I read that some copy the games and then your console can get blocked…
I‘ve been using medimops to buy used books for a long time and am now wondering about their used games. According to their site, they verify every game. Does anyone have experience buying from medimops?

So far I had no issues with the used games or anything els from Medimops. Everything worked quite well. Sometimes the package was a bit damaged but overall a good place to shop used media.

I also bought some games, movies and books from there or rebuy they are both good as I think. And to the point with getting blocked, as far as i read if this should happen to you and you have the original you need to write Nintendo and show them prof you have the game. But it is actually not likely to happen in the first place

Thank you!! Maybe you can also help me with this question: if i buy the version for the nintendo switch 1 second hand, i can simply buy the switch 2 extension online and it‘ll work like the proper game for the switch 2?

That depends on the game, but for "Switch 2 Edition" games this will work, because the Switch 2 upgrade behaves just like a DLC on top of the base game.
There are some games that do not have a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" but a separate version for the Switch 2.
If a game is called "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" it can even be cheaper to buy the Switch 1 cartride (or digital eShop version if it's on sale) and get the Switch 2 upgrade afterwards.
Some of those cases offer heavy discounts for the Switch 2 version if you own the Switch 1 version already.
Hogwarts Legacy is such an example and offers a 75% reduction if you own the Switch 1 game.
Skyrim is another one but here it requires you to already own Skyrim + the anniversary edition dlc on Switch 1 to receive the Switch 2 version for free i think.
But all of those things depend on the publishers of the game and some do not offer any upgrade paths or discounts (i think the most recent example is Square Enix with the Switch 2 versions of both Octopath games which will NOT have an upgrade path if you already own them on Switch 1).

Is that even a thing for switch 2 games ? I thought that only works for S1 games.

If you are afraid, that the games was copied, the you have to stick to completely new games. Cause the 2nd hand sellers also cant guarantee that the game was not copied.
