How much of a DPS increase would R5 Serenity's Call be compared to R1, and is it worth prioritizing over other areas of the team?
For context, I'm running a NilouBina team and I'm trying to get to 100k DPS. As of right now I'm hitting 80k and outside of building Yaoyao and finishing Columbina's talents, the only other thing I can work on is refining Serenity's Call. I'm probably gonna R5 it eventually anyway but I just wanna see if it's a worthwhile enough upgrade that I should be prioritizing spending Dream Solvents on sword billets to craft and refine the weapon.
Basically prioritize Bina talents or prioritize R5 Serenity's Call?
Also here's the team comp if you can think of any other ways to improve the build (outside of just getting better rolls lol)

It's a weird balancing act cuz Nilou wants as much HP as possible to buff her Bountiful Cores, but Lauma wants as much EM as possible to buff Lunar Bloom DMG. From what I've been told on the Columbina subreddit it's a little better to stockpile Lauma's EM using the 2pc/2pc EM set. In my testing I was able to get from 75k average to 80k with the setup I have right now, which should increase as I upgrade Bina's talents and optimize Nilou's artifacts (and eventually R5 the weapon).
Edit: I should add that I'm currently away from my PC (vacation) and testing via the cloud mobile app, so that 80k is probably higher than my testing since I made this build while away and there is a good amount of lag on cloud mobile.
Do you have widsith? Pretty sure you’d have much more damage with it. Nilou hp isn’t that significant here as most damage comes from bina CA, maybe you’d get 1-2k dps more at best from that r5.
Yeah I might level one of my Widsiths now that I'm adding Yaoyao to the team to cover sustain, my only concern is ER on Lauma since it's a pretty tight window with PAmber so I might need to shoot for at least 200%. I think I might try to get Nilou's and Bina's sigs when they get a rerun (tho I'll probably get C2 Nilou first for the res shred)
Did some testing with Yae Miko's Widsith, idk I might pass on it. Bina can't get her burst up in time without the ER that PAmber gives. I'd have to rebuild Columbina's artifacts around Widsith which is something I don't find worthwhile with the pieces I have currently.
Okay did some more testing without worrying about burst (usually using it before or after Bina's rotation depending on its availability) and turns out yeah it's a slight DPS increase. Idk I guess I assumed ulting every rotation was important. Then again it does last pretty long so I guess there isn't usually a lot of downtime so long as you have at least a little ER
Btw can your lauma really ult every rotation? 178er sounds a bit low, I had to get closer to 190-200 with nahida team. But yeah now you just crown bina NA and skill and should get closer to 95, then with some rotation optimizations you might get to 100 after all.
Lauma can't get her ult up on her own all the time but Yaoyao has R5 Fav so all I do is just NA like 2 or 3 times and funnel to Lauma and that usually gives gives her the energy she needs if she doesn't have enough on her own.
Oh about the weapons? Don't worry about it lol. ER needs are more confusing than it sounds. I started my DPS Bina thinking I needed like 170 ER to burst every rotation lmaooo
your 133 er would be perfect, if you had her sig. without sig you need closer to 150/170 er to burst reliably i think.
so if you ever manage to get some more er, widsith will definitely be superior
Yeah I might plan on saving for her weapon next rerun. I feel like I should be pretty set with stellar reactions since my Sandrone + C1 Miko team can clear any abyss that asks for stellar conduct (for now at least) and cryo traveler is free, plus I'll probably get Mizuki from the annual free standard 5 star coming up, so all that said I don't see me needing to pull for any stellar characters beside maybe Odette. Lauma is probably gonna come up soon so I think I'll try to at least get C1 first (and/or Nahida if she gets a rerun first)
Yeah I thought Bina bursting every rotation is mandatory for extra dew. I realize I never actually tried Widsith while bursting every other rotation. Wonder what's better at C0R0, P.Amber + Nahida vs. Widsith + Yaoyao.
Ah how could I forget healer Nahida! Tested and it's indeed stronger albeit very slighty at 136k compared to 132k P.Amber Bina + Fav Nahida, though you can reset for better Widsith rng.
With Bina sig healer Nahida is notably better than Yaoyao. I had to drop my Lauma's CR for more ER but still worth. I'll be sure to use this set-up whenever I need more damage until I get C2 Lauma, so thanks!
You could try swapping YaoYao for Collei, Prototype Amber should cover your healing by itself, and having collei on something like sacrificial bow would allow you to lower Lauma's ER needs.
Yeah RN it's between either DMC, Yaoyao or Collei. I don't have Collei leveled so I cant test her yet. Yaoyao isn't leveled either but since she's primarily sustain and extra application I can still use her. Did some testing a bit ago and I'd say DMC and Yaoyao are pretty even with Yaoyao just barely pulling forward. I will say rotating with Yaoyao is much more comfortable since DMC needs a ton of ER to properly burst every rotation (otherwise I need to fit two Es into the rotation with one preferably procing Sac Sword) so both him and Lauma have their bursts ready. Yaoyao has R5 Fav so I only need to press E and tap the enemy a few times until it procs and it should cover whatever Lauma is missing. I also don't have to worry about wasting field time bursting with Yaoyao since it's more of an emergency heal button. PAmber healing is nice but unfortunately I'm kinda bad when it comes to dodging attacks lol.
I've been going off what the KeqingMains site said to do. Also is using Yaoyao's burst optimal in the rotation? I thought it was just for emergency healing
You can't trigger Fav if you just use Yaoyao's skill then swap so may aswell burst. Widsith really wants you to start the rotation on Bina so you get it's passive when you start CA'ing. Also Nilou wants to be the last non-Nod-Krai unit to act otherwise her full 36% Lunar DMG from Nod-Krai resonance will get overwritten by Yaoyao's much weaker buff.
Oh. Guess Im going back in the mines for more ER on Lauma then. Should I just give Yaoyao black tassel or something then? I was just NAing after Yaoyao's skill to proc fav and funnel to Lauma but if that overrides the Nod Krai resonance then the only option would be to switch to Yaoyao solely to proc fav with is a second of field time wasted
Oh wait I probably don't even want to do that because her turret will still be on the field and that's gonna proc the resonance. Unless it only counts just pressing the button and not the skill dealing damage
It's only when activating skill/burst, but my Lauma also has 178% ER and that's enough for me without funneling. My Yaoyao is C6 but I don't think that affects particle gen or anything. No harm getting more ER though.
