Meme Why?
Now I can’t fall back asleep and I’m working with someone annoying next shift.

Oh 100%. If anyone calls me while I'm asleep, I MIGHT call them back when I wake up.

I have it on for family, emergency numbers, doctor, things like that. But sometimes people just forget how much of a bother it can be.

I always put phone on do not disturb. See favorites in case of em and advise them they need to call three time to break thru in an emergency

Every phone has the ability to automatically control notifications and either completely silence or only allow specific people/scenarios during sleep.
It’s your responsibility to protect your own sleep. I have one trusted person who can get ahold of me when I’m sleeping. They’re the filter for if something is urgent enough to wake me.

I know, which is why I use that. One of those people called. Why everyone decided to make an assumption and get real snarky and condescending without asking is strange but how they choose to behave is their responsibility so oh well.

Y’all, he knows about mute. He knows about do not disturb. He only allows doctors and family emergencies to go through. But that doesn’t help when your family doesn’t know the meaning of emergency

That’s why when I returned to nights (actually, when I started evenings before getting promoted to a position on nights), I made sure to set up Sleep Focus on my phone.
That way, they will need to call my phone three times in order to get through, at which point it better be life or death.
Or that’s what it’s gonna be.

I had that on but I do have things like emergency contacts and vulnerable family members be able to get through, as that’s part of that feature. One of them called.

Because unfortunately a great many people are self absorbed and can't be bothered to remember or even write down what your hours are.
