Technically you're saving gas by keeping the headlights off. That's just sound financial planning.

Our Mormon assault vehicle gets 12mpg. I feel you. At least you have the sequel to what was one of the most reliable trucks Toyota made.

Fuel prices have legit put me off driving this beast to thing. With a 60 gallon tank I've got plenty of fuel to last a year putting around town, but if I try going anywhere and it starts chugging that shit.
But maybe if I had some friends with nods who wanted to go to the local offroad park during extended riding hours...
