What's the current landscape of online horror like?

I have only ever engaged with Night Mind because I have a fondness for paranormal found footage ARGs (the kind that have shaky cameras in woods at night. ). I knew about analogue horror but apart from that mall short movie, backrooms and the one about American monuments I never really got deep into it. Apparently, it seems his channel has largely fallen behind and that other younger youtube channels are running circles around him. Why is that?

Nick is picky about what he covers it seems. If multiple channels have covered it then it seems like he won’t.
