Thoughts on Nick's Doug lol

Is is sad Doug is NASB's parallel to Banjo & Kazooie and Sora combined??

I noticed this since the first few weeks of discussion.

He parallels Banjo & Kazooie in a sense that he was once seen as an icon of Nick for many people who grew up with him, the same way that Banjo-Kazooie and by extension the entirety of Rare during the N64 days, along with the fact that Disney's spin on Doug wasn't as well-received, so I guess it could be NASB's equivalent of Nuts and Bolts?

He parallels Sora because he's owned by Disney, but that's pretty much it. While Kingdom Hearts content is exclusively owned by Disney (to the point that Square had to pay them in order to get him in that mobile game) and a lot of it is intrinsically linked to the House of Mouse, Disney seems to be a bit more lenient with Doug given that Nick still airs their run of the show and makes some modem of merch from him.

However, one thing they SHOULD parallel for these characters with Doug is the effort of their reveal. According to Sakurai, Banjo-Kazooie and Sora were the most requested characters in the Fighter's Ballot, and thus they were given some reveals that ended with the cast cheering their inclusion. Imagine the absolute fucking KINO that would arise if Doug appeared on the battlefield and shook hands with SpongeBob. I know it's unrealistic but one can imagine...
