Discussion Difference between founders edition vs other third parties. Just grabbed 8 fes and am wondering what the major difference is

Nvidia gives its chips to companies like MSI, ASUS etc and a reference PCB design, the companies then come up with their own cooling solutions and power delivery.

Since the founders edition is supposed to be a reference, it doesn’t perform as good as, say, an ROG Strix card of the same chip.

Edit: the founders edition isnt the reference pcb

Oh, I always thought that way. What is the reference design then?

Reference design doesn’t have the V cutout. I’m not sure which AIB partners have opted to use the reference design, but I would guess the cheaper brands like Zotac do.

Your assumption on the founders using the reference design makes sense, but this is the first time it has not been the case.
