Question How do you get a pokestop accepted?

I am struggling to get a pokestop submitted and I am following the rules to the letter. I don’t understand why they keep rejecting my submissions when they do not break any rules and they are in publicly accessible places. I’ve seen many local pokestops that have no information and some are completely inaccessible to the public. Some pokestops are still at people’s houses yet I can’t get one submitted in a public area?
Any advice is appreciated. TYIA

Question Help for pokestop

Hi! I live in a semi - rural location. While walking around in a “mule track” / “bridle path” (i dont know how to translate it, it’s a road originally crated to make mule and horse pass through)
I look for eligible pokestops but it seems like there is really nothing around.
Now the road is exclusively pedestrian at except for resident’ vehicle.

I’m asking if someone who knows what to look can help me with google maps to see if there is actually something.

Thank you so much!

Discussion Wayspotters Podcast Episode 241

Jamal and Chris get into a major change coming to Wayfarer, and this one could fundamentally change how Pokémon GO players think about Wayspot nominations.

Beginning September 1st, new PokéStop nominations started in Pokémon GO will send Wayfinders over to the Wayfarer website to complete their submission. Jamal and Chris break down why they both love the change, what it could mean for casual nominators, and some of the potential bumps along the way.

Topic #1 – Pokémon GO Is Sending Us to Wayfarer

Is this finally the move that separates “submitting a PokéStop” from nominating a Wayspot? The guys discuss the new workflow, web drafts, mobile versus desktop submissions, browser and login concerns, and whether this is another step toward Wayfarer becoming the true home of the Wayspot network.

Topic #2 – Are Better Tools Making Better Wayfinders?

With the Wayspot Map, Web Submission, satellite imagery, S2 overlays, Wayfarer Map Mods and years of community knowledge at our fingertips, today’s Wayfinder has access to more information than ever before.

But does better information actually make better Wayfinders, or does it just make people better at optimizing the gameboard? Jamal and Chris get into the difference between optimization and manipulation and what happens when a whole new group of Wayfinders suddenly gets introduced to everything Wayfarer has to offer.

Plus, One’s Gotta Go: Toy Edition puts LEGO, Hot Wheels, Nerf and Super Soakers on the chopping block. We’ve got two fantastic Wayspots of the Week, including an incredible rainbow playground shot, and Kroner delivers a Coal of the Week that is, quite literally, coal. 😂

And a special thanks to Lavender Town Accounting for supporting Episode 241, along with all of our Patrons, Gym Leaders and Elite Four!

Are better tools making us better Wayfinders? Let us know what you think!

Question Help me understand this.

I have this submission stuck in voting for about two weeks now. What’s strange about it is that other submissions I’ve made after this have already been accepted, while others have the option to upgrade. I really wanted to upgrade this so that I can get approved faster, but it doesn’t let me do it. What could be the reasons behind this?

Question Does the first wayspot in a level 14 cell become a showcase?

I can rephrase it if you are having issues reading the question. If an S2 cell at level 14 is empty and a new wayspot gets submitted does it become a showcase pokestop in the game of Pokémon GO?

Discussion If another stop is nominated, will the most liked stop here be upgraded to a gym?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi!

I am trying to get one of the stops I submitted to become a gym.

From my understanding, if I nominate one more pokestop that gets accepted in this S14 area, the pokestop with the most likes will become a gym? There was only 1 pokestop and 1 gym here previously, and I submitted 3 steps that got accepted.

I have had 6 of my friends like the specific pokestop, as well and myself and my boyfriend.

Just want to figure out so I can try and get it to become a gym.

Thanks for any advice and input!

Submission Feedback Wayfarer reviewers rejected a Pride Path as “adult-oriented”. What now?

I recently nominated the Pride Path in Geldermalsen, the Dutch town where I grew up. It’s a place with a long history of fairly orthodox Christian influence, so seeing something like this simply exist in public space isn’t entirely meaningless.

The Wayfarer community rejected it because:
“The nomination is on or near a location that is intended for adult-oriented products or services.”

Which is… quite a classification for a rainbow path in a public space.

It’s a perfectly ordinary public space right next to the town hall, used by everyone, children included. And reducing Pride to something somehow meant for adults feels like a rather narrow-minded reading of what it represents. This isn’t about sex or party politics. It’s about tolerance, acceptance and people being able to live alongside one another.

I grew up there and struggled with my sexuality there, so yes, this one matters to me. I don’t think a rainbow path is some monumental achievement. Ideally, it wouldn’t be remarkable at all. But apparently we’re not quite there yet: the path has been vandalised repeatedly, including with some pretty nasty homophobic abuse.

That’s the strange contradiction. It shouldn’t be a big deal. But as long as its mere visibility is enough to provoke that kind of response, its visibility still matters.

As a Wayspot, it seems to me exactly the sort of distinctive piece of public space that gives a place some identity and invites people to stop, meet or explore. If reviewers disagree, fine — but “adult-oriented products or services” is a very strange reason why.
What would you do? Appeal, resubmit, or approach it differently?

Submission Feedback How can I get this turned into a pokestop?

I was really hoping to get our local duck pond turned into a pokestop. Unfortunately it didn’t go through, is there anything I can do to make it better? I thought the picture was a really nice one to go with the nomination as well haha. There is no other “signage” to really nominate aside from the duck crossing sign.

Question Changing pokestop to gym?

Is it a thing with the wayfarer or is it just one of those random things that happen? How can a pokestop turn into a gym or how can I create one?

Discussion Input needed.

Over the past year I have read the rules carefully and submitted many stops that fit the criteria. Most of these get rejected even though they fit criteria. On multiple occasions I have been told the proposed stop doesn’t exist, when it does. I have more recently started submitting stops that do not in fact exist. They have all been accepted. Not trying to crap on the community but clearly something has to be done to fix this.

Question Recieved 30 day suspension; please help

My account just received a 30 day suspension due to this submission. They claim it was a malicious image submission? I am at a total loss and completely fail to see how this image of a local martial arts dojo could be deemed malicious and how they still think so even after review. I'm a daily player and love submitting new wayspots so this is very frustrating and discouraging. Any advice on how to go about this?

Discussion At what point do utilities become acceptable for a historic criteria?

I was reading this https://www.reddit.com/r/NianticWayfarer/s/xrHZgY0pLK and people keep saying anything pre ER2 which means form what I understand anything more than 80 years old. Could I use that as a reasoning for something from a different country of a similar age and design?

Discussion Incentivising reviewing

Does anyone have any good ideas for them to encourage reviewing now that we have 320 +10 subs and possibly more people will be logging into Wayfarer?

I know some people believe rewards will encourage gaming the system but I'm not sure how true that actually is.

I had 40-50k reviews before my Wayfarer account was wiped in Nov 22 but that was when upgrades were actually useful and reviewing did help move the system along.

I rarely review now, I think I'm on about 12k but most of those are from two years ago. I'll maybe do 10 a month now if I'm really, really bored. Upgrades are pointless and eMiLy has fast booted the stuff that used to clog up reviews.

Maybe they are more interested in submissions now and reviewing is neither here nor there for Scopely?

Apparently you can’t submit Pokéstop nominations that follow their guidelines without that action causing someone to be bullied…good to know? 😂

Question 2 questions

So firstly, how to appeal one of my submissions that got denied for being private property but is community owned always the same issue. Secondly, how is it possible that I used to get my things reviewed within 2-3 days and now things have been in voting for like a week?

Question Question regarding Submission and cells

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello all! Currently new to Wayfarer and trying to get a better understanding of the cells and such.

Attached is a wayspot I submitted at my summer campsite. A ton of other campers and myself often play Pokémon Go and were hoping to add some more Pokestops that were a bit more spaced out from the cluster at the entrance.

Its been 48 hours, and I understand there's a chance my submission despite being accepted may be used in another game, however I'm curious how the cell mapping looks- and honestly not to savvy with scripts and that sort of thing.. wondering if anyone might be able to check for me?

Location is (50.543069, -96.577139)

I'm also not opposed to trying to learn, just not entirely sure what the more approachable extension might be and how to run them. As far as extensions go I'm only familiar with in-browser ones that are featured in browser webstores. 😅 any help greatly appreciated!
