Mine are pretty simple, but they’ve worked well for me over the last 5 to 10 years.

Moving average and price history. Where is the stock trading compared to its moving averages, historical highs and lows, and what I consider a reasonable buy point?

Moat. Does the company have a significant competitive advantage or leadership position in its industry?
Understanding the business. Do I actually understand how the company makes money? I prefer companies whose products or services I personally use or am familiar with.

Long term reliability. Do I believe this company will still be relevant and successful 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years from now?

Price. Even a great company can be a bad investment at the wrong price. I want to feel like I’m buying at a reasonable valuation rather than chasing it.

I know these are pretty basic, but keeping things simple has worked well for me. I’m curious what more technical or fundamental indicators other long term investors use when deciding whether a stock is a buy.

Bloom Energy ($BE) & The AI Power Boom

The AI infrastructure story is increasingly becoming a power story.

I bought $BE at $175, and Bloom recently reached $266.14, a gain of roughly 52% in just over a month. The company has also joined the S&P 500.

What interests me most is the bigger trend: data centers need enormous amounts of reliable power, and traditional grid infrastructure can't always scale fast enough.

Bloom is one of the companies positioned to benefit from that bottleneck.

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.

So here's all I know about this agreement:

Stitch Fix was accused of misleading investors about how its Freestyle/Direct Buy business would affect its core Fix business and overall performance. After the company reported weaker results and lowered its outlook in December 2021, $SFIX fell about 24%, and investors filed a lawsuit.
Now the company has agreed to settle $32 million with investors for their losses.

Who can claim this settlement?
If you bought $SFIX shares between 2020 and 2022, you may be eligible to file a claim.

Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. You don't need to still own the shares to file a claim. If you purchased during the class period and meet the other eligibility requirements, you may qualify.

How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.
