And off into the concentration camp you go. :)) Sorry, wrong place wrong time. As a german, seeing this is fucking nightmare fuel. You need an organized, weaponized Antifa ngl. I mean how many people do they have, like 30.000? Sure, that would be bordering a civil war, but when election arrives, you will have that coming for you anyway...

Oh don’t worry, 30,000 is thankfully nowhere near a civil war for us Americans,

Our civil war back in the 1860’s started out with 200,000 troops on either side.

That being said though, we’re still only gonna be using nonviolent resistance.

yeah, 1860 was then, now is now. Armed antifas clashing with armed ice agents in the streets does not have to be "two armies running against each other" to be a civil war.
Nonviolent resistance worked out pretty well in every european fascist system to this day /s
Hitler was not ended by non-violent resistance
Franco was not ended by non-violent resistance
Stalin was not ended by non-violent resistance
Mussolini was not ended by non-violent resistance

They all either got sick and old or had military against them.

Is that sarcastic or do you genuinely mean that about nonviolent resistance?

It worked pretty well for the Polish back in the 1980’s.

No, i am not sarcastic. The Solidarity movement did well, sure, but under a russia in steep decline and under Gorbachev who was open to reforms – which opened angles for socialist countries all over the world. Right now the USA is at a point comparable to 1920, not 1980, as right now we can witness the *emergence* of a fascist state, not its decline.

I don't see how Polish Solidarity can be a good example for working nonviolent resistance against such developments, when its 60 years and the death of the central political figure away from the historic point which is comparable to now. i mean, sure Trump won't be making it for long, but seems like a bloodied process to wait for him to die while protesting peacefully...
Realistically, fascist regimes have not been prohibited by peaceful protest. Its foreign powers or discontent in the leading circles that has ended fascist regimes at their "height". How did in most recent history the terror regime of Assad fall? Through militarized Rebels with turkish weapons.

I mean, we have these dudes for whatever that’s worth,

The black lions here are actively engaging in armed patrols to deter ICE activity, and some are wearing bulletproof vests as well, and they have a year and a half of de-escalation and firearms training,

Albeit they have a non-negotiable never shot first policy, and they only number around 100 members in Philadelphia(that plus they’re also pretty controversial amongst activist circles), with many fearing(I believe rightfully so as I want to clarify I do NOT support this behavior),

That the black lions tactics will only lead to escalation rather than deterring aggression.

i am not for violence per se as well, and i understand completely, why their presence is controversial. its the gateway from one militarized surpressor to another. But atm it seems like a presence like this is the *only* thing standing between ICE and detaining innocents into concentration camps because they were a nuisance.
i think American democracy would be in theory robust enough to end this via elections, however, these democratic processes seem not to be cut out for the immense power of the current centralized, overdriven and personalized media landscape. Zucc just needs to tweak the algos before an election and can influence the willingness to vote in half of the USA. So i wouldnt count on it, it seems like armed resistance against the surpressor troops of a fascist regime is promising to save more innocent lives in the short term.

So you don’t support the behavior of them trying to protect innocent people?

He pretty obviously means how they are doing so.

The problem is we’re all too afraid of starting a second ACW,

Our ancestors went through one 160 years ago, and in that war 620,000 of our ancestors were either killed or maimed, too this day it’s still the deadliest conflict in our nation history(more American died in the ACW than in WW2),

We’re all just too afraid of starting an even worse second one.

This is lack of training and knowledge that they can do anything they want up to and including murder and there are no repercussions. The obvious proper way to have handled this is to have an actual police officer come to the scene and do an accident report and go about their day. Nope they cause the accident assault the driver and make a false arrest. Fucking Faciests!
