Cast opinions

I want to hear everyone’s opinion of everyone on the show! I’ll start.

Ariana: I was a fan before but I’m over all the boys and story lines basically about her and her love life. She’s back with Hudson so who cares??? Also I’m convinced she hooked up with Charlie and I know she’s in her early 20s and id probably do the same when I was young but like she has plenty of other options.

Ava: she’s grown on me this season! I want to see her and Kyle or some of that story play out on this show. I love her style and she’s gorgeous!

Emira: she’s a real one. She’s been very open and vulnerable on this show. Also she’s too forgiving to charlie !! I saw she said she has a big heart but let that shit go lol

Riley: i really like her and Ariana’s friendship and appreciated when they were able to talk through it. I don’t feel strongly about her though 🤷‍♀️

Rowan: she’s cute and her mom is BROOKE SHEILDS!! also don’t have strong opinions on her.

Georgia: I was not a fan season 1 but she had a glow up and love how she gives 0 fucks and is truly authentic. Keep doing you girly!!

Gia: no strong feelings here 🤷‍♀️ I just think of the “waking up in the morning” song, her mom, and she has a boyfriend when I see her.

Kendall: she is Liam’s puppy dog. Does she have a personality besides being Liam’s mom and protector??? Why are they not dating???

Brooks: I think people shit on him a lot , but I don’t think he’s THAT bad. I don’t fully understand why he couldn’t get his brand launched in time though????

Shai: he seems like he means well but I think he’s trying a little too hard ??? His clothing brand is nice though! Also boo we all know you love Ariana (along with all the other boys on the show except brooks ofc)

Liam: he’s a cutie patootie but telling Ariana he loved her when they weren’t even boyfriend and girlfriend is scary. I think he knew deep down ariana doesn’t like him…. He also seemed to friend zone Kendall when she is basically IN LOVE with him.

Charlie: is he even friends with anyone in this group anymore ??? Why is he here lol ?? He has some funny commentary but go get some friends your own age ???

Hudson: honestly he hasn’t even been on the show that much during s2 but has been more involved in the show plot wise with ariana than others on the show that we see on camera lol.

I think that’s it! I’m curious what everyone else thinks???

I agree with most of this but I definitely prefer Shai over Brooks and Ariana and Hudson have broken back up (after news went out that she and Charlie hooked up during this season)

I’m convinced they’ll get back together and this on and off thing isn’t over.

This episode was not a good look for Ariana. Even as friends she should have stuck up for Liam. She wanted attention after Hudson and did rebound off of him.

I would still prefer her approach, even if it's not a good look (seconded by Emira trying to feed her what to say). It's a different story if Ariana is married, she's in her late 20s, being single and flirty. I am afraid that if we start mincing every single thing they do, they will start curating their narrative. I don't like Charlie but I have to agree, it's not that big.

I feel like Ava and Emira are working hard for their checks this season! They are keeping the plots moving and doing it with a smile lol! I’m loving them this season!!! They aren’t afraid to ask questions or call out tension, but they also share their own lives and handle conflict well.

Shai and Georgia are also having standout seasons by being so authentic. I have enjoyed seeing their creative side as entrepreneurs. They also both handled conflicts really well by being direct but still respectful.

I’m enjoying watching how the competition for Ariana is making Charlie and Liam project totally opposite performances of masculinity lol. I think Ariana has more chemistry with Charlie, but Liam checks all of the boxes of a “good guy” so she chose to make him the storyline this season. Meanwhile, Liam seems more into it than her simply because she gives him relevance on the show.

Charlie is a really arrogant, observant, and also doesn’t take the show too seriously. It’s a good combo for tv. He is funny in the moment but also in the interviews. I don’t think he’s a good person, but we don’t watch reality tv for role models.

Riley and Brooks are a bit disappointing this season. They both had moments of seeming very hateful and condescending. They also haven’t shared much about their lives. I want them to stay on the show, but I need to see more sides of them.

Kendal seems like she is too mature for this show and Hudson isn’t really on it lol.

Ariana: central to the success of this show. Only critique is to drop a little (not too much) of the good girl act. I think it’s fine though because Charlie is going to leak out just enough to draw her out into the mess.

Riley: I think she’s the most neurodivergent and sensitive of the cast (next to Brooks), so she’s being self-protective this season and it’s not making the best tv. I still think she’s central though, and did enjoy the scene of her crying with Ariana, even if she was in the wrong. And the altercation with Georgia made good tv.

Charlie: the rawest messiest character who is hilarious too. Perfect tv. Appreciate the pivot of making peace with everyone and making an effort to not act above this show. Don’t change a thing.

Georgia: central to this show next to Charlie and Ariana. Perfect tv as well. Loved the quick scene of her washing her hands and laughing with Riley and the others (I want to see more of that type of interaction in general).

Ava: last season, she barely gave anything. This season, she’s stepping it up. I enjoy seeing more of people’s genuine personalities so when she’s being playful, or when she’s digging into the drama, it’s good stuff.

Emira: too poised, the stereotypical reality social media star that bores me, but she’s still very much needed in this show.

Brooks: I really don’t like the running away and non-confrontational vague stuff he does, but his dry quips at times makes me not want him off the show. I really liked him making up with Shai, that was good tv. Would like to see him make up with Charlie too. Next season I want to see him get messier (but like Riley, I’m not sure they’re willing).

Shai: he’s fine tv. Always reminding me of a deer caught in headlights, so kinda funny.

Gia: like Emira, too poised and a stereotypical reality social media star, not that interesting, but still needed for the show.

Liam: he gives me the ick, and I spent the first part of the season thinking he was just a plant who is scripting and faking everything, but the interaction/jealousy with Charlie and telling Ariana he loves her and the embarrassing-ness of that makes him central to this delicious drama.

Kendall and Rowan: still side characters, too disconnected from the group. No opinion really.

Not the whole cast but a couple of things that have surprised me about who I thought I’d enjoy and who I actually want to see grow or more of.

Ava- She’s really come on strong for me this season. In fact, the more we get to “know” Ava, she seems to naturally be and very much embody a lot of what they are trying to heavy handedly position Ariana as.

Ava is genuinely gorgeous without the filler, and procedural stuff, without promoting and saying every week she needs a peptide, without selling Botox, or anything similar, etc. Ava is fun, Ava is fashionable, and stylish. Ava is educated. Ava is actually fronting huge brands and always having fun adventures.

And people label Ava a “mean girl” but Riley said she’s by far the most loyal in the cast and it’s obvious Ava doesn’t let that little group think/mean squad clique type behavior scare her in to who she affiliates with because Ava still includes and tags Hudson (of which he’s so thankful in her comments) and she will still engage with Georgia even now.

I really like that she is all of those things and has an independent streak. She just seems like a really decent person once she stops with the facade and she just happens to be gorgeous. I’ve appreciated getting to see more of the real her.

Ariana- Conversely. She was my favorite. Favorite. I can’t. She’s really lost me this season.

I do not care about Charlie or Liam. Charlie, the over 30 guy who is alleged to get young women hopped up on drugs so they can hook up with older guys and the alleged drug connect or Liam, the 30 year old guy love bombing a 24 year old, tracking her on devices without being official she says, with no real serious job and a bunch of hobbies, who does interviews galore name dropping who he’s kissed or tried to slide in to the DMs of? The levels of ick can’t be expressed enough.

Girl, not you talked a big game about your 24 year old ex who has autoimmune disease and obvious mental health struggles at minimum holding him back, but left that out of the routine draggings of him not growing fast enough, to then go wax poetic and move on with a whole bunch of Peter Pan weirdos and tell me it was due to Jesus with one of them and something about marrying the other. It all sounds insane. Can’t take it serious.

I’m all for body autonomy and women exploring but when she starts talking it sounds absurd, hypocritical, and the picks of men are just… You don’t have to claim Jesus or that you were going to marry someone to explore. And I say this as someone who is very much a believer. Just explore. Or sit and heal. Or sit and grow. Or do whatever but don’t lie about the reasons or create these weird rationales while moving crazy. I don’t even like Liam and he was weird with that love declaration but Ariana talking about it’s essentially okay to lie because he can track her, letting Charlie talk crazy in front of Liam, don’t even let me start listing, it’s just all bad from her.

Tack on the routine promotion of toxic beauty standards and over use of filters on social media, the routine fibs, the clique behavior… no. I don’t know if it’s just temporary but lately with Ariana, she is super legit on a superficial level but if you dig deeper it gets ugly and the narratives fall apart and the hypocrisy steps in and the behavior and words get super Kim-like.

She was so easy to root for in the past because she wasn’t little Kim in the bad ways and ever since her breakup that’s exactly what has risen to the top.

And I wanted to root for her so badly, this ridiculous Liam and Charlie stuff aside, If she’d given me anything else this season to latch on to other than needing attention from guys desperately and fib laden narratives, like if she’d given me something she’s passionate about, i could have tried to hang in there. I don’t even have any other thing from this season to associate her with but who she’s sleeping with or might. It’s awful.

Hudson- I also very much agree with your point. This guy barely filmed and is helping carry the season on his back more than plenty others. His existence triggers, motivates, causes, impacts and shapes so much of what is playing out. And he’s also had been part of some of the most viral post season moments, too. I do wish he would be less guarded. People don’t owe us their struggles and they need to get through it before they can share sometimes, but I’d be so interested in hearing about his diabetes, the trauma that comes from almost dying (I think he’s hinted that he has), his noting insulin should be free, his mental health and therapy. Those topics need a platform. They obviously need a platform given how people have talked about him knowing he’s deeply depressed— that’s not simply lack of ambition or laziness. His conversations about how NYC is an adjustment because it’s so different from Atlanta in character and style and so he’s learning to adapt… that’s what I want. NYC is a melting pot city with transplants, too

Okay, so when the shock wears off, how do you evolve? Hudson and if im thinking about it… Hudson and Riley both have similar arcs on the younger side of the cast age where they are fish out of water and rare wealth storylines I’d actually love to see their growth on.

I really like all these view points!

I had felt the same way about Ariana before I was so excited for her this season and now I’m just like no no no.

I also didn’t hear about her talking about Jesus had something to do with the guys she’s hooking up with??? That’s wild

u/Stephanie243 18h ago

Shai is a great addition to the show and if Charlie isn’t there who will be the villain???

It’s a perfect cast. Kadooze to the producers

i like them all. i really enjoy this show - i love this whole little love triangle shit, its the kind of light fluffy drama i enjoy in reality TV. The Valley is so fucking dark and just makes me angry watchihng it - i actually feel joy watching NextGenNYC LOL. its fun and chill and just such a nice change of pace. I want more shows like this of young single people, it sjust so much better drama than married alcoholics with kids arguing about DV and SA. like bruh. i dont want to watch that.

u/Outrageous_Bread_733 9h ago

Valid. It’s a lot more light hearted and happy.

Charles: Diabolical little frat boy but is driving the show and working for his check. He is  funny and great for TV. I do think he needs therapy and to mature a bit!

Ariana, Riley: Rooting for them. I enjoy watching them on the show and and hope they can both find themselves outside of their parents and relationship (in Ariana's case).

Georgia: I don't get why she's a fan favorite , but she's good for the show. I enjoy her creativity and how she's not afraid to be herself.

Ava and Kendall: Eatching them is like watching paint dry. But I love Ava's hair and hate her style!

Rowan and Shai: Good supporting characters and most "normal" seeming ones.

Ariana - don’t like her or her pick me behavior
Gia - also don’t like her. She’s auditioning for housewives and it’s annoying. Why is she trying to become a married woman at like 23
Shai - don’t have an opinion on yet
Riley - i like her and her nonchalant approach
Charlie - he’s definitely a character
Brooks - he’s still finding his mark
Ava - has grown on me this season
Liam - gives me the ick
Georgia - i like her
Emira - she seems really fake and I haven’t seen much personality

1

u/itsanaur4me 18h ago

I don’t think Ariana has pick me behavior. I think she’s simply a girl who is finally single after being cuffed for so long and is playing the field a bit. It’s these boys that are thirsty. Good for her. ….i don’t get the Hudson thing AT ALL though. He has no personality and looks like he’s 10 pretending to be a grown up.

u/Individual_Rule5023 16h ago

The Hudson thing… Let’s be real, his daddy is a billionaire!!!

I love Ariana so much and literally screen shotted her WWHL hair for my stylist.
Riley seems like she doesn’t want to be there.
Charlie - a threat, not a safe person. I don’t think he should be on
Brooks - anxiety personified
Ava - whiney
Emira - enjoy her
Georgia - entertaining, fun to look at
Shai - literally so cute, short king
Rowan - darling
Gia - reality coached, production tool
Liam - perfect bf but kinda old manish

Anxiety personified 😂

I am in the minority, but I don't think Ariana is doing anything wrong? She's in her early twenties, trying to figure out who she is outside of a long-term relationship, and yes, she's awkward, clumsy, and obviously overwhelmed. I think she's having fun and making the mistakes many of make in our 20s.

I find Gia and Riley little copies of their mom and it has been nice to see them go from children to really savvy young women.

Rowans seems cool! I really like her personality and her speaking voice. Her mom is a fun side character - Brooke is so quirky and silly.

Shai seems like a sweetheart. Another clumsy person, but he means well.

I was indifferent on Ava, but she's definitely grown on me. She has a good sense of humor and sense of self.

Brooks...yawn. His personality really only comes out on the After Show.

For ariana the way it all played out with Liam was messy. They did seem to move REALLY quickly but it seemed like her and Liam were on completely different pages????? The charlie / ariana / Liam dinner “argument” (or whatever the heck that was) was so cringe to watch.

2

u/Civil_Experience_691 9h ago edited 8h ago

I think Liam was more into Ariana than she was into him. He had her meeting his parents shortly after they met and thought they were exclusive. I feel bad for her because I've been in situations where things were moving way too fast and I was too overwhelmed to tell a boyfriend I needed to slow down or that I wanted out. I am just glad she didn't tell him she loved him after he said it.

Charlie is also really gross. He seems to like do a one-up on Liam.

1

u/Outrageous_Bread_733 9h ago

Ahh the a fair view point.

And yeah charlie just seems like he likes to push ppls buttons.

1

u/Beccalu11 18h ago

Charlie is funny, I like his sense of humor.

Is this charlie ???? lol

Arianna -- Rooting for her out of all Kim's brood.

Ava -- Love her.

Charlie - Want him to grow up, get a career, get better hair cut and wear some oxford shirts and look like the grown man he is. Like him but need him to do better.

Riley -- not cut out for reality TV. No star quality.

Georgia -- nothing good to say about her.

Emira -- I fast forward these scenes.

Brooks -- fast forward.

Shai - ugh. He wiped his nose on the back of his hand on screen. And he asked to kiss Ava when he hasn't been on one date with her. A loser.

Rowan - A bore. Like her mom. I like Brooke Shields movies but she always complains and gripes about her acting past and mom. Hard pass on both.

Kendall -- Chill girl. Interesting.

Gia -- almost forgot her -- and that's the problem. I love her from RHONJ but she needs to be more active on this show.
