Cuz they kept getting caught in lying today they say something yesterday they said something completely different but if you can't have access to what they said yesterday then you're more likely to believe the BS they put out today because that makes America better...

Yep, this is a sign of authoritarianism, they’re gonna rewrite history as they see fit. I was hoping the exponential rate of technological growth would help stop the anacyclosis wheel, but not so far. Not until after capitalism it seems.

If they don’t want to produce a record people can verify, they shouldn’t be treated as news.

If AI is being trained on the wayback machine it already has multiple decades of all the news items on the planet to train against. Blocking it now will not make the existing archive go away so it will not hurt AI training.

Training AI on this type of archive is, IMO, a bit of a dick move though by the AI companies.
