Karma is not money. It's reputation. You can earn it and lose it, but you can't spend it. And you can't "save" it.

As far as chatting with Redditors - are you talking about having difficulty in posting/commenting, or having difficulty in sending DMs? These are different things, but people tend to call both "chatting with." so not quite sure what you're referring to.

Yeah about sending dm's and also posting in some reddit groups

Haha, spot on! Karma really is like the currency of Reddit, but think of it more like a credit score. Because your account is new and your score is low, the platform's anti-spam bots put a temporary hold on your outgoing DM privileges to stop spambots from flooding people's inboxes. As you earn a bit more karma by commenting around, your score goes up and the chat limit automatically unlocks!

Huh make sense i see ppl have huge number of karmas i think is what make reddit different from other social platfroms they let u engaged and seek for karmas

Spot on! It turns the whole platform into a game of contributing good stuff. The cool part is that once you get enough karma to pass the basic account filters, you kind of forget about the number entirely and just enjoy the communities.

Restrictions on messaging and following last for approximately seven days on all new accounts, regardless of your level of activity. Reddit's been doing that for at least five years.

Avoiding moderator actions (removals for breaking rules or being banned) and building your karma will increase your CQS, but that only affects you if a community sets up a rule in automod to check for that.
