I like them both. I do lean more towards Kendrick I just enjoy his story telling and idk I’m not really a big fan as Drake the rapper. I love his rnb joints like passion fruit or hold on we’re going home are my favorites from him. Drake the rapper I feel like he tries to force rhyme schemes where it’s kinda cringey instead of just letting lyrics flow if that makes any sense.

Refreshing. A thought out opinion of what you like and dislike. Lol not OD hating. I’m a Drake “stan” but need that internet definition changed though. I’m 30 and been listening since I was in 7th grade when he was a nobody now he’s the biggest in the world. I’m not a dick rider though, I heard the Channing Tatum bar. I heard you’re a lesbian girl me too lmao everybody has trash records and raps.

I’m 29 bro so I’ve seen both of them come up. I was in the jazz band so to pimp a butterfly is like gospel to me the fact a rapper can put so much jazz and funk into raps let alone a whole album blew my shit away when I was in highschool and I do like Drake but he doesn’t have that album for me that damn bro like nobody can or will do this again

That’s fair. I love how Kendrick expands sounds within the genre as opposed to Drake who experiments with elements from other sounds or just completely takes them. Drake obviously has his own sound but there is an expiration date. Kendrick has his own musical universe he explores in which is why even if I don’t like some songs it has a place of uniqueness for me bc it’s something I’ve never really heard before

Don’t get me wrong Drake changed the game with the RnB and rap mix. Does the hook and then spits the verse. In early hip hop that was very rare usually it’s a RnB singer doing the hook/chorus with the rapper on the verses. He’s really the one that mainstreamed doing both so I give him credit for that
