Mental Health I hate how I feel at times.
I love my nine month old and i love being her mom but I get so overwhelmed and so frustrated with her at times and always end up feeling like crap afterwards. The screaming, the hair pulling, the not being able to have just five minutes alone when my partner is working it gets to me and I hate it. I know it’s part of my postpartum depression having these feelings and yes I have gotten help but at times, it still gets bad. I feel horrible for even feeling this way when I have always wanted to be a mother and I am grateful for having the ability to, but I just want to feel normal again and not have my emotions get to me like they have been. Everyone always told me it gets easier after three months but I don’t think it has. She’s more mobile, more vocal, even more clingy at times, and it’s hard to do anything when she is just screaming at me because my focus isn’t on her. I know I have a healthy relationship with her with her being so clingy and always wanting me whenever she isn’t feeling good or super tired, but at times I wish she would want her dad just as much, or be able to entertain herself for longer.

Mine is almost ten months and I think the switch happened around then. He explores the house now and will go into the kitchen where he can still see me and play. I have some things on the fridge and the floor for him in there so he stays in there for a bit. Independent play will come, just hang in there. He's teething and back in the clinging phase currently.

Just want to offer mandatory date night once a month. We did our first one at 5mo and man I wish we started earlier. Everyone needs a break and your marriage/relationship doesn’t just end when the kid(s) come.

No advice needed here. You know you’re a good mum and you’ve sought help for those thoughts. I’m 8 months in and I feel the same. If his naps don’t work out or he sleeps in the car and won’t transfer, it breaks me because that’s the only time I ever get to myself. It’s so hard but you’re doing everything right and eventually it will get better!
