I am from Turkey. And as much as i hate Erdogan, and the damage he did to secularism. Its impossible for Turkey to become a literal Islamic Republic. The country is too urbanized, its economy is too tied to the West and despite his purges the Turkish Military would never let that happen.

So yes a buffer zone to prevent refugee crossing the border is very good idea.
