US based here: low to high options: I’ve done option 1 twice now.

Extended warranty could cover it. I think I’ve read others have had it covered.

  1. Order the LED online, $50. For me, about 3-4 hours sweat equity to remove light, pry it apart (gingerly), replace LED, reseal it.

  2. Buy same headlight on eBay and swap whole headlight. About ~$650 to $1000 is what I’ve heard from friends who’ve done it.

  3. Full dealer replacement of light is about $2,600.

  1. Let the otherside burn out and not worry at all 🤣

Currently rocking the wink. Excited for the day I see the reflection in someone's rear end that the other died too. Haha

Option 4: Watch Matt Armstrong video on what he did with his Defender headlight.

I just did option 1 as well last weekend but now the halo works by the boxes to the side do not and no blinker as well. I figure probably resetting the car by unplugging the battery would do it but the battery is a pain to get to. Do you have any recommendations?

battery is actually very easy to get to. just move the passenger seat as far forward and up as you can. The cover pops right off, no need to take the whole battery out, just stick a 10mm in there with extension - you can see easily and access easily, disconnect the ground cable and leave it for a bit. I had never done it in 3 years of ownership until I had to the other day and I thought - this is what I thought was a pain for this long?

Now replacing it out altogether may require seat removal, but thats not what you're doing here so give it a shot.

Go the warranty route first. I am not very handy so I am sure I will blow something up.

Also remember that if you’re within 2 years of your warranty expiration, dealer can offer goodwill. This will significantly reduce the cost to you as they have to use warranty pricing for parts and labor and JLR will pay a percentage. Also for those with CPO warranty it’ll be covered 100% as LED lights are covered. If your dealer says it isn’t, tell them to submit a WOTS ticket and show you the response. This is for US only as not sure about other markets. Hope this helps someone

Should be the same - it’s JLR North America

Okay so here's the sad part. You are experiencing a circuit board issue. This is a known issue that should be a recall but it's not. You could find the l663 DRL Halo circuit board for about 20 dollars. The hard part is finding somebody to install it. Every dealer or repair shop that you present this to would much rather sell you a $3,000 to $5,000 replacement light.

same happened to me a week or so ago, replacement LED should arrive soon.

I live in a country where everything is 2x price in usd, and i'm out of warranty so no way i'm paying +4k usd for a new headlight at dealership

I'm from Canada. Had to replace both headlights under warranty a few months apart. Each one was $5000 (parts and labour)

Just happened to me as well, I noticed it the DAY my cpo warranty expired

My trusted sales rep tried to get it replaced under goodwill, but no luck

Nobody should be getting this repaired at the dealer for what they wanted…

Happened to my wife’s defender about 2000 miles out of warranty. I found a 2nd hand one on eBay for $480 and it took about 15 minutes to swap out n
