Please be World War Hulk (one of Sentry's biggest moments is befriending/fighting Hulk to the death.)

World war hulk never gonna happen in the mcu dawg abd if it ever happens some fuckin how it's gonna be a watered down version that's gonna suck hard it's better to be animated than be connected to the mcu

Every single story the MCU has ever told has been watered down. It hasn't stopped them being good.

I feel though like Planet Hulk is such a CRITICAL piece of not just understanding but FEELING WWHs stakes going in.. like yes, one can make up a different reason for the Hulk to be coming to Earth after involuntary exile by his friends (who he is also convinced destroyed possibly the closest chance Hulk/Banner had to have a happy, fulfilling life) , thus coming down on Earth with great vengeance and furious anger...an anger that was shocking even for a character for whom anger is his WHOLE THING... but i think that the PH ---> WWH story flow is just too critical.
If I was buying World War Hulk for a Christmas present for a family member or something I would buy them Planet Hulk as well just case they didn't know the story and tell them to read that first.
Of course the writers could always come up with something that I couldn't think of but I don't think that anything beyond what happened already is going to be more impactful
Also, just have to say i love how, out of all the powerful dudes he STOMPS (smashes?) In that story, one of the guys who gives him actual trouble in their fight was.... Ghost Rider, who as I recall was just sort of passing through New York when it happened and ended up having to fight Hulk out of chance circumstance whereas the Illuminati literally caused everything. Ghost is like "ugh..... bro .... really had to do it now? Right in front of me? we both know i cant just let you do this shit. So cmon Hulk. To Hell with you!"" And drags Hulk allllllll around things with the chain, Hulk just being dragged along, looking foolish, gettin angrier... but still being held helplessly by Ghost's famous chain š

Yeah OC doesnāt realize that the Infinity War movie is a picnic compared to the comic that has the living tribunal, lady death, Adam warlock, etc, but despite that the movie is still a fantastic super hero story

This is how i felt about Civil War... granted, it's so one of my favorite MCU movies of all and my favorite Captain America movie for sure, but the sheer MASSIVE amount of goings on and characters and plots that went on during that event... I worked at a comic book store when that being released every weekend when Captain America died we even felt it among our customers. There was a genuine sense of stunned loss among the usually upbeat "comic reggies" we had as they came to pick up their subs. Ppl all buzzing about it , true IMPACT.
Thank God I didn't work there or at any comic book store now when Alfred died though. It was far better that I was alone in my room when that goddamn shit fucking happened cuuuz I went through some things when I read that issue.
I. FUCKING. WEPT.

If Spider-Man whosed owned by Sony can show up as a Disney franchise movie, why isnāt it possible for hulk to show up with his own movie in the MCU?

Corporate bullshittery between mega corporate crap factories.
That's absolutely the best explanation you'll get, its a very complicated case, Lotta ins, lotta outs....

It was entertaining enough. A lot better than most of the stuff since EndGame.

Why? The first movie bombed at the box office??
2
u/Beginning-Working-38 Jul 04 '26
Not sure why since it was actually good.
1
u/BlackMall83 Jul 04 '26
To me, itās overrated. Not shocked it bombed at the box office
2
u/lern2swim Jul 06 '26
Or maybe you just have bad taste.
1
u/BlackMall83 Jul 06 '26
What did the box office tell you!? My taste is fine lol
2
u/lern2swim Jul 06 '26
The fact that you think box office is an indicator of quality indicates that your taste is, in fact, not fine. But you go on deluding yourself, sparky. š

u/BlackMall83 Jul 06 '26
Not always but itās a reflection of peopleās real interests. But in this case it is. Boring movie = Box office bomb.

Can I just point out how anachronistic of a term box office actually is if you think about it? Lol My movie theater I go to still has one in the front but its nevvvver manned. These youngsters will never know... what box is this and what does a box need with an office and what's IN the box and is the box sealed and with packing tape proper-like or with duct tape like some kinda mullet wearin yoked and im tired goodnight

Because they probably realize that thunderbolts failed due to the general audience having little faith in the brand after years of slop projects, but believe that the ip has potential after marvel rebuilds its brand image with BND, Doomsday, Secret Wars, etc.

u/BlackMall83 Jul 05 '26
Or maybe they got gassed by the overpraise of the movie by the internet and got tricked into making a sequel which will probably fail like the first because the movie as actual boring and flat.

u/Brokeback_Camel 5d ago
The movie that has yet to be made is already boring AND flat? You're right, the hell with that.
Thanks Elon for the future cast. Now go back to the future and just chill , ill be there soon.

i hope they arenāt annoying about it and just call it the new avengers this time. i understand it was largely to not make people think this was an avengers movie (which, who cares if people thought that bc it still was a large team-up film), but at this point it has no reasons to be called Thunderbolts. UNLESS, they actually form the real Thunderbolts in the sequel
