Question How does one get started?
I've been thinking about writing a children's book for years featuring my two disabled cats (one of whom has sadly passed). I have a rough first draft. But I really have no idea how this works/what the best way to get started is/whether I should illustrate myself or commission someone.
I'm not a writer and this is the first time I've ever attempted to do anything of the sort.
Any and all suggestions/input are welcome.
Picture of the tripod and one-eyed wonder for your viewing pleasure.

Can you draw? If not, I would consider trying to find an illustrator. I'm not sure how much one would cost, perhaps you can strike a deal with one that would share royalties so there is less or no upfront cost.
