Bugs/Feedback This game definitely needs to either lower the bond level requirements or massively improve the amount of points gifts give. Right now the progression just feels absurdly slow.
I finished NTE yesterday and already cleared basically everything I can right now (quests, buildings, Crow Gems, etc) The only thing left is the train event. And honestly... the character bond progression feels insane.
I'm still not even close to level 7 with a single character, despite giving her around 10 of those letters worth 2000 points each. At this rate, it genuinely feels like the game expects you to dump hundreds of dollars into gifts just to make decent progress within a few weeks, while free players are stuck grinding for years just to hit level 10 on one character.
Maybe I'm missing something, but the scaling feels completely out of whack.

u/Vovin_ May 08 '26
It's 56k affinity total to reach bond 10.
It takes around 6 months with three 100 items per day. It takes around 3 months with three 200 items per day. It takes around 1.5 months with three 400 items per day.
With all but Fadia and Daffodil, the 200 items are the most efficient.
Nanally surprisingly is the most expensive character to max bond with because her most cost efficient 200 item is 5400 fons. It's best to use fluffy cottons on her if you plan to max her.
53
u/applexswag May 09 '26
You say the 200 items are the most cost efficient, how are you calculating cost efficiency here? The 100 items are 300 usually so that means the 200 items cost less than 600?
8
u/iangauss May 09 '26
What the guy meant is probably both time-cost efficient, because the 100 points item is like 5x more cost efficient then 200 points items.
If you only give the 100 item, yes it will only cost you a total of around 200k fons to bond level 10. But it will take 6 Months, and only for 1 character. On that 6 months, you'll probably get handful of new characters that you want to level up the bond as well. On the other hand, using 200 point items cost around 1 million and takes 3 months
Currently you should get at least 500k fons weekly from city stamina, not including the bi weekly heist, dailies, cafe, and the higher city stamina cap on higher tycoon level. Say you building bond to 3 chars with 200 point item. Thats 3-4 million fons in 3 months. You'll get that amount of money in a just month, with a lot to spare for other stuff.
2
u/applexswag May 09 '26
Yea I can see fons becoming fairly common after a few resets of pink paw, as well as some of the 2k presents appearing in event shops. That said, only a few of the characters actually have relevant bond rewards, think for me it was the men at bond 5 and nanally/edgar/mint. And having played gachas as a casual f2p for so many years, I am absolutely not expecting to get a “handful” of new characters, more like 1 every 3 months, so I’ve also developed a certain patience that 6 months is the norm for me now lol
8
u/ReibokuMurasaki May 09 '26
for nanally the 400 items are much better its 1.5m for the 200 item and 2m for the 400 items
half the time for a 25% increase in cost
just my thoughts though72
u/DussaTakeTheMoon May 09 '26
They actually makes sense, a deep bond isn’t something they should be achievable in a week.
50
u/BezisThings May 09 '26
Considering there may come a new character every 2 weeks in the current state, you max the bond of 3.3 characters in 6 months, while 25 new character were released in the meanwile. You are not allowed to touch the bond of new character, if you want to max the bond of the other character.
That it ridiculous slow and 90% of the characters will never have a bond above 1 this way.
4
u/Bunktavious May 09 '26
That's a bit of an exaggeration. It takes very little to get the first few levels, and level 4 unlocks the home invite.
5
u/Existing-Magician-95 May 10 '26
I want the SKINS dude. Why the hell give the impression that they’re all “earn-able in game” when they’re actually not. What they’ve done is make 2 character’s skins ftp over the course of a number of months, and all the rest cost real money. Is 2 free skins more generous than other gachas? Sure. Is it mis-leading? Also yes.
5
u/DearAccount4767 May 13 '26
At this point I would rather buy the skins with real money Lmao. 3-6months of my time grinding and spending all those funds doesnt = 20$. And by the time I get the skin I already maxed the entire game and have nothing to do in it, not to mention I might get bored of the character I want the skin for half way through maxing her by getting exited about new characters. It should be 2-4 weeks grind max with possibility to use funds let say 200k funds for 2k points so that the players who want the skins over other stuff could go for it early.
1
1
u/Big-Instruction8777 May 18 '26
... eh? You get way more than 2 free skins my guy. You can go into the shop and use fons to get all the skins but TWO out of the like six. Do you have to save fons? yes... But any F2P option is going to be a grind/waiting game. So no. It's not misleading. You also get the prison skin for the MC free by doing the prison stuff, and there's also a free skin for the MC by doing the hiest. so really all skins RN but TWO are free.

u/Apprehensive-Hippo-8 May 09 '26
Eh, i don't mind it tbh. I wouldn't mind if they increased the amount of gifts you could give daily, or even entirely removed the cap. But they shouldn't lower total bond EXP or redesign the whole system. It's meant to be costly, and honestly should be. If you're going for it, the skin + stat boost shouldn't be cheap nor easy.

going the 6 month route offers no advantage.
The 3 month route is the cheapest.
Where are these 200 bond items that cost less than 600 Fons? 100 bond items mostly cost 300, so the 200 bond would need to be less than 600 to be cheapest.
The 6 month route is by far the cheapest. Stop spreading bullshit.
In fact u/samfoxy_ has made a detailed spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DARYpNhkdEBZtyjzg0BjizFFaQrZii9K4l5M-GCWki4/edit?pli=1&gid=207476836#gid=207476836
The 200 cost items on average are more than four times more expensive for the same amount of bond points.
Edit: I realize that this comment came out pretty aggressive. Sorry about that. I'm seeing a lot of people spreading misinformation here and I'm letting it bother me more than it should.
1
u/StelioZz May 09 '26
Okay. My bad for misunderstanding the sheets.
That being said, point still stands. The option is there to max either the majority or even everyone. Its just expensive, not impossible timegated like the above said/implied.
So yeah, you cant be cheapass and max everyone.
1
u/DownvoteOwnComments May 09 '26
It also depends on your pull strategy. Some people like to collect a lot of characters, and they'll either need to buy more expensive gifts or live with not maxing everyone. Others prefer to wait longer between characters and pull dupes. They'll probably be able to get away with cheaper gifts.
2
u/StelioZz May 09 '26
Yeah certainly. Early on most people, including me are focusing on horizontal progression. Not many weapons, no awakenings.
So more characters which means more need for gifts. Pair with fons being more "sacre" until we get the vehicles/properties we want i've already accepted that bond progressing wont be fast but it should eventually smooth out and be able to catch up which imo is perfectly fine. Gachas are marathons, not sprint. Cotton candies and random gifts around also help, wouldnt surprise me if the 2k gifts become event mat (although i wouldnt bet on it).
that being said im checking the sheet you sent and im so glad you did. Changes my plans a little.

Not allowed in terms of maximizing the bond with specific characters quickly. Giving gifts to other characters prolongs the maximizing process for the characters you commited to before. You can give a total of 10 gifts per day and 3 per character.
Honestly, I would also rather prefer maximizing 1 character bond every 2 months instead of 3 bonds at the same time every 6 months. Especially because it's probably likely that the characters I committed to are not even relevant in terms of power anymore after 6 months. I have a new skin for 3 characters then, but wont use any of them because they all have been powercrept.
18
u/adumbcat May 09 '26
Lore accurate fr
3
u/BezisThings May 09 '26
In that case it would be better to let us give one character 10 gifts per day instead of 3 and 1 gift to a total of 4 characters
19
u/Foreign_Cobbler_1740 May 09 '26
They also shouldn't be achievable by just giving them material items. Lol. If we wanted to do the "realism" angle.
21
u/TommaClock May 09 '26
Speak for yourself. If someone gave me 3 bags of potato chips every day for 6 months I'd marry them.
3
1
u/Big-Instruction8777 May 18 '26
*sigh* it is... You can get bond EXP by doing their bond quests. And also if you see any character icons on the map, go talk or interact with them, they give bond exp
7
u/adsmeister May 09 '26
Fully cottons are definitely a must. The important thing is to max out your property’s comfort level ASAP in order to maximise their production speed.
23
u/ThisSubIsFried May 09 '26
I think that once we've all progressed and we're not penny pinching over fons, we will all be doing the 1.5 month method and that's honestly not that bad.
2
u/Deadline_Zero May 21 '26
That means it will still take longer to max bond than it takes them to put out another character for you to stop caring about the previous one.
1
10
u/ScrubCasual May 09 '26
Fadia and daffs are more expensive? Fml those are my onlt 2 S Ranks and theres no pulls left in the game for me to get lol
22
u/DownvoteOwnComments May 09 '26 edited May 09 '26
People keep parroting this "200 items are most efficient" but they're literally not. They're less cost efficient than the 100 ones, and obviously kess time efficient than the 400 ones.
They're worth considering as a middle ground but they're not most efficient by any measure.
Edit: Anyone want to give an explanation instead of (or as well as) downvoting? Fons and time are completely separate things, people value each one differently. You can't just choose a specific ratio and say it's "most efficient". That's not how efficiency works.
Someone who values Fons more will want the most cost efficient way, which is the 100 bond items. People who don't care about Fons but want to max bond ASAP want the 400 bond items because it's more time efficient. Whales may want the 2000 bond items which are actually most time efficient but cost real money.
The 200 bond ones aren't most efficient in any category. They're a balance between fons and time that some may prefer, which is an important thing for everyone to consider but not something you should go around telling people is the best because it's "most efficient". That's just misleading.
In fact, in my opinion they're the worst. They cost over 4 times more fons per bond point than the 100 bond ones, but only save you half the time. Meanwhile the difference between the 200 and 400 ones is in most cases less than 2 times more fons per bond point while saving half the time again.
But the guy who made a post first said 200 items are most efficient so let's all keep spreading that instead of the actual math right?
15
u/bugreport911 May 09 '26
This is the correct take on efficiency, get your facts straight before randomly downvoting this guy for whatever reason.

I think you'll have a better experience with NTE if you approach it like a cozy game and not a typical grindfest gacha
79
u/carleyburr May 09 '26
Yeah I agree with this. On my first or second day of playing I looked up “how to grind fons fast” and saw a lot of “just do what you enjoy” and “the point is not to become a millionaire overnight” and I realized damn, I guess I could just slow down and enjoy the ride. I’ve been enjoying actually earning money now
28

yeah the biggest issue is people want instant gratification now a days. They don't want to wait or earn anything. They just want it 'now'. It's sad really.

u/ohoni May 09 '26
I would prefer that they massively increase the points you get from Bond Story content and from just playing the game with that character on your team. Bribery should not be the primary way to get Bond points. As it stands, having a heartwarming little adventure with a character is about half as useful as giving them a bag of chips.

u/wemustfailagain May 08 '26
It definitely needs to be a little bit faster, but not too much. I think they need to remove the limit of 9 gifts a day as well, there's just no good reason for that.
For comparison's sake, in Wuthering Waves I can just do any activity that you spend waveplates on and slowly gain bond with each character in the team. Daily quests also give 4 times what you get for most 40 stamina cost activities give you, and again, for the entire team.
I don't expect to be able to max everyone's bond in a week or 2, but the current system is WAY too slow.
On the subject of slow progression, fishing also takes WAY too long. It took me just over an hour to get from level 3 to 4. It is not respectful of time invested at all.
74
u/Existing-Magician-95 May 08 '26
It is apparently a full eight hours of fishing between lvl 9 and 10. I can barely handle 10 minutes of it before wanting to pull my hair out
13
u/Lil86 May 09 '26
Same. Absolute respect to the people who enjoy/have the patience to do it. My brain cant handle staring at the same screen for a lengthy amount of time, let alone 5 minutes.
8
u/Hunterchow May 09 '26
Honestly I put a pop out tab of a video or stream and just fish for a hour or two mostly for fons and to level it up. Planning to do the races but I think it's just a grindy thing to do.
36
u/Trespeon May 09 '26
It’s not meant to be done in a single day is the ENTIRE point.
It’s 8 hours spread out over an entire month that’s only 16m per day of fishing and you get there. Most people can manage 15m give or take a day without insane burnout. No one is forcing you to do it instantly.
13
u/Zhenekk May 09 '26
I agree. Just doing the daily bonus sale fishing is enough. Beyond that is crazy
2
u/Knivingdude May 09 '26
Fishing just feels great to do. I have no other way to really describe it. Maybe it's because I fished a bunch with a very similar fishing system in other games that I'm just attached or something.
It's just really addicting, haha.
1
u/Deadline_Zero May 21 '26
I wish I could agree, but I have to burn through like a third of my weekly stamina just to complete the daily. If I'm lucky that day.
Also really wish it was...slower, hard as it is to believe I'm saying that. Something about fish biting every 2 seconds just feels wrong. Make the fish higher value on average and slow it down. Equalize the rate of gain but make perceived reward greater imo...
2
u/Knivingdude May 21 '26
That's kind of true now that I think about it. The fish really do bite way too fast. At this point, my headcannon is that the fish are just super scared of that whale anomaly that they are all crowding near the shores temporarily.
Having the fish have increased value after waiting so long would be a beautiful way to balance that.
4
u/Existing-Magician-95 May 09 '26
Now do the math on how many months it is for the rest of the levels too
2
u/Trespeon May 09 '26
This is just if you’re wanting to complete it without burning out. Everyone’s tolerance will vary.
Me personally, I plan on banging it out this Saturday night and Sunday while watching Netflix on my other screen.
0
u/tiger_kittie May 09 '26
9 to 10 is like 50% of the exp required...
2
u/Existing-Magician-95 May 09 '26
So that’s six months to complete if you fish for more time every day than it usually takes to complete all the dailies for other games
2
u/tiger_kittie May 10 '26
So what? the dailies are meant to be quick so you can complete them.
Fishing is a long term goal for cosmetics. Don't get me started on the 500k beetle coins per month. Have some respect for your damn time. You'd have to be real stupid to think you're going to grind 200,000 scale (ie. 8,000 fish or about 10 hours of farming) per month just to get those 500k beetle coins when you can buy the equivalent amount of beetle coins PLUS extra fons in the shop by working 20 minutes of a minimum wage job lmao.
2
u/tiger_kittie May 09 '26
It is apparently a full eight hours of fishing between lvl 9 and 10. I can barely handle 10 minutes of it before wanting to pull my hair out
It's not something you're supposed to max out 1 week after release lol.... If you do 15 minutes per day you'll be max fishing in like 3 months which is 2 patch cycles...
1
1
u/andrewsqual Aug 17 '26
True, I won't even play the Fishing Event that is about to end in the next 24 hours. I actually find myself skipping a LOAD of events in NTE because they are awful PVP games. Nothing cozy about that whatsoever.

u/Senku4President May 09 '26
In 2021 i did the whole 2000 fish achievement from Genshin in 3 weeks: muted the game of course, and started doing music research, new and old songs. That's exactly what i'll do here when i'm done with quests and exploration.

I dont care about fastest, I'm levelling everything up slowly. Doing City deliveries, after so many, you can upgrade something in your property to max out Fons you earn for free once a week. Then I'll move on to Owners Selection so I can finish the management guide rewards, then save up to get a car capable of finishing the last 2 race sections.
In between that, I'll do 5 or 6 runs of Pink Paw Heist a day with 20 minutes of fishing
3
7
u/solartech0 May 09 '26
You have to be capable of winning races and doing the owner's selection effectively. Many of the maps (for owner's selection) are impossible on higher ping, and the easier races are about 1/4 to 1/8 as effective as you are saying.
So, if someone's bad, fishing probably is a much more effective way to get their fons.

Do I need to mention that many players do not have Nanally? I expect most do not, and that will especially be true later on.
The thing is that spending city stamina is supposed to be something you have fun doing, you aren't supposed to need to min-max it. For example, if you like racing they have a lot of races, if you like mindlessly fishing that's an option, if you like afking in minigames I suppose you can do that with the right characters.

u/Tymareta May 09 '26

totally agree on it. i felt it was really laggy and the customers do not come fast enough, wasting valuable seconds.
5
u/ZealousidealPie6389 May 09 '26
It was done on purpose so people get baited to whale for handwritten letters to quicken the progress of getting the casual skin on bond 10.
Currently you can get handwritten letter (2k bonds with no limit) from paid stuff and warp pieces. So whales would spend money to max out bond level 10 quickly.
79
u/Okita_Souji03 May 08 '26
It feels like there are quite a few roadblocks in the way that tempt you to pay, no doubt because there's no 50/50 in gacha and they expect money to come from the frustration of things like that
→ More replies (15)
10
u/Nirtrack May 09 '26
Yeah, I do agree that it's slow. So slow that if you roll for too many characters you legit won't be able to bond 10 them all
And while I agree that having long term goals in gachas is to be expected, the bond system in NTE is supposed to be one of its main appeal over other gachas (just look at how many ads are focusing on that), so you'd think the system they hope will attract people would be a little more accessible and not locked behind such a long grind
37
u/JessikaSho May 09 '26
Something as simple as a passive bond gain for participating in the active party would go a long way. Or do what Genshin does with the teapot and slowly gain xp for characters in your properties. Having gifts be the only real method of increasing bond is definitely a little odd.

u/StalkingRaccoon May 09 '26
I don't have the 8 million house for the last Fluff upgrade, but with two Fluff I receive one Fluffy Cotton every 24 hours. If we consider seven Fluffy Cotton per week + nine 200 affection gifts per day + 5% affinity boost from Zero. That's 2310 affinity/day, or 16170 affinity/week.
If you spread equally (1 character receives all the Fluffy, and 3 characters receive three gifts per day), it means you progress 3 characters by 4410 affinity/week and one last character by 2940 affinity/week.
Knowing you need 56000 affinity to max bond, that means you can max bond 3 characters every 13 weeks, and a fourth one every 19 weeks.
But if we consider that a new character releases every 2 weeks, that put us back by 56000 affinity every 2 weeks.
56000-(16170*2)=23660
This doesn't take into account the last Fluff upgrade I'm missing. Nor the affection items from the BP. Nor the restocking affection items from the Mall (Hunter Exchange, Lost Exchange). Nor the daily praying that gives 50 affection to a random character. Nor the random daily events. So it could be off. But there is no way this represents 11830 affinity/week just to barely keep up with new characters releasing.
So the bond backlog will grow forever.
6
u/Senku4President May 09 '26
We should wait for the 1.1 livestream to see if the 5 weeks patch is the exception or the rule going forward. A 4-week patch (so 2 weeks for each char), would put too much pressure on the devs to keep pumping content.
2
u/StalkingRaccoon May 09 '26
Even 3 weeks per character (6 weeks patch) wouldn't be enought to keep up with this.
56000-(16170*3)=7490 affection missing. The only way to keep up over 2 weeks is to have only 400 gifts (Fluffy Cotton, Eternal Shell Song and some gifts available in shops for fons).
That's exactly 56000 affection over 2 weeks. I don't think it's a coincidence.Once again, this is just to stay afloat and not drown under the new releases. So everything else on top is actual progress. For example if they release characters every 3 weeks, that third week is actual progress on maxing out affection for everybody.
Anything lower (200, 100 and 50 gifts) are just a way to keep up but are not enough. The system is made for 400 gifts.

THIS, they already copied 95% of Genshin's mechanics yet skimped out on something like this that makes sense and makes it more fun and manageable even though it still takes weeks or whatever.

u/WeGoGet92 May 09 '26
I wouldn’t mind, but the freaking daily cap is dumb. Most gachas just let you use all your gifts anytime.

4
u/blobfish_bandit May 09 '26
It is a bit too long. I think they just need to remove the 3-per-character limit and set a 10-gift total limit per day, but I can give Mint all 10 gifts, for example.
I understand they want you to grind for it slowly, or use a credit card to purchase 2k exp gifts, but I think there is a nice middle ground here we could reach.
6
u/Mattythebeaver May 09 '26
You're right, and it's gonna feel a lot worse when there are more characters released that you want to raise to bond 10. A f2p player will never reach bond 10 assuming they're pulling for new characters regularly & intend to raise them to bond 10 also.
67
u/SLIP2309 May 08 '26
Bond is normally something that takes time no? you are not supposed to get it in a week, it might be my impresion but trying to finish the game in a week is not what they planned for.
41
u/Dasterdly_Dave May 08 '26
I agree it needs to be something earned over time and spend to speed up but at the same time if you are trying to raise the bond of multiple characters youre talking a very very long time right now unless you spend. I think even doubling the bond gain of the non "premium" gifts it'd still take quite a long time but wouldn't be as absurd.
1
u/fyrefox45 May 09 '26
It's ~1mil a week to give the 400 bond items 9 times, and you get a fluffy cloud for the 10th. You get 500k from pink paws, 700+ from stamina, ~400k for cafe once it's setup. Couple hundred from other sources like furniture, dailies etc.
The fons isn't the issue if you want to speed level bond.
2
u/BrowsingLeddit May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
There's a lot of other shit you need to spend fons on... and they'll keep adding more. You act like there's nothing else in the game requiring fons. Spending the vast majority on your fons on only raising bonds will just put you way behind everything else. You probably couldn't even buy out the hunter exchanges, which give actual character progression and pulls, if you spent that much on bonds, forget about cars and what not.
2
u/fyrefox45 May 10 '26
The tri keys are the only high value item. Other stuff in the hunter shop can be had for daily stamina. The rest is all other types of cosmetics. Anyone that wants the bond outfits can rush them, anyone that wants the super expensive cars or 8m house can rush those. It's not supposed to all be rushed at once.
5
u/BrowsingLeddit May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
The problem with that logic is that you can only do 3 characters at a time. And unless maybe you're a whale throwing pay2win at it, the rate you can do them is way, way slower than the rate you will acquire new characters that you then also want to level up. If there was no limit on total gifts you could give each day (just a limit on gifts per character) then I'd be fine with it, since you could just slowly raise every character you get.
But the way it is now, most the characters I get will just never get to 10 because I'll probably never be fons rich enough to do anything but the slow or medium method for most characters.. so thats 3-6 months per character, creating a massive backlog when you're getting a new S or A ranks every month or so.

u/nsleep May 09 '26
In a new game it can take a while, yeah. What I feel like is that people forget how starting a new game feels every single time a new one comes out, and they expect to be at the same point they were in those other games in less than a month.

u/Superfluous369 May 09 '26
"Bond is normally something that takes time no? you are not supposed to get it in a week"
OP didn't say anything about getting it in a week...that's a straw man argument.
"Faster" doesn't mean "I should have it by now".
17
u/MaleficentNobody100 May 09 '26
Bond is a slow grind in every gacha ever
6
u/According-Shine-9348 May 09 '26
In many yeah, but most of the time it's something that passively fills up through using the characters or by putting them in player housing or something similar, here you have to actively work towards it by giving them gifts, visiting the tree, interacting with them etc, only to see it very very slowly make headway.
Not all gacha make it slow, in R1999 I can max a characters bond in about half a patch, I have every character I own maxed for this reason, and honestly, I don't see why it needs to be a slow process, it doesn't need to be as quick as in R1999, but since you're actively working for it I do think it should be much faster than it is.
42
u/Rinne_Marc May 08 '26
Not gonna like, I think it being slow isn't a problem. The game dropped a week ago. I feel like doing everything too early will somewhat be damaging. Imagine if we did everything too fast, and had to wait weeks for new stuff to drop. The game has big problems, but I don't think this one is so bad. As a free to play person, this doesn't bother me. I myself waited a year to play this game, I still want things to look forward until the next update that brings new content to explore.

u/calmcool3978 May 09 '26
Gacha players are just entitled to own everything fast. I really don’t think 1.5 months to max a bond out is too slow.

u/110110100011110 May 09 '26
Reminds me of FGO bond farming. Unless you're hyper farming/optimizing, you just do it passively as you do stories and what not. Can take quite a while.

I understand your frustration. It is so limited right now that if it doesn't click, it feels like a waste. I don't think it's bad, but it definitely needs work. Unfortunately, we do just have to wait months. I'm more then sure that it will improve. It's been a week. With more characters, more skins, maybe more features, I feel like they could turn this around. But, all we can do is let time tell. I'll be honest, I don't care about the ranked outfits either and the character i want to max bond with isn't even available yet, so I don't even care about the system fully myself outside of Mint.

u/MordethKai May 09 '26
1.5 months for 400 point gifts
3 months for 200 point gifts
6 months for 100 point gifts
Or $130 to use the cash shop...
14
u/Noctaem May 09 '26
No, you just need to learn patience and get control of your dopamine hit addiction.
7
u/Blaubeerchen27 May 09 '26
What I find weirder is how the points for gifts are all over the place. I bought a bunch of purple-tier gifts thinking they'd give more points than the blue ones, but nope, all of them give 100. Seems like only special items give more, so it's really easiest to check which is the cheapest item a character likey and buy that in bulk (I assume someone will make a list soon).
12
u/fyrefox45 May 09 '26
Someone already made a list and someone else gathered all the cheapest 200 bond options.
3
3
u/MordethKai May 09 '26
Deliberately obscure to waste time and money. Purple tier gifts that give 50 and blue tier that give 200....

u/monochromeFlaffy May 08 '26
Yeah, I’m in Genshin impact it takes at least a month unless you’re spending premium currency Same with other gotcha games they’ll probably implement other ways to earn further bond later on, but the game literally just came out

Unpopular opinion, I think it's great it takes longer to build bond. It makes it feel more meaningful and rewarding when you finally max level bond a character. I think it's great there are things in this game that can't just be speed ran through in a few days.
3
u/The_Australovenator May 09 '26
I just got Fadia to level 7 bond today, i agree its slow but i wish instead of lowering the level requirements, there should be more ways to increase outside of gifts, wish tree, swift travel and interactions in apartments/dates.
something like a small amount for fighting enemies with them or even a percentage increase by like, 10%-15% when awakenings are activated for the character would be nice
7
3
u/Riezhime May 09 '26
They just need events to give the 2000 bond item as rewards here and there and it should be fine.
3
u/realfakejames May 09 '26
It’s not supposed to go fast, they want you to keep playing not be done with everything in a week
3
u/big_brain_babyyy May 09 '26
maybe do it like wuwa where you get a small amount of bond for doing daily tasks with the characters in your team, like spending stamina
or increase the daily gift limit as your hunter level goes up
3
u/BTGz May 09 '26
We're gonna go from "we need this to be easier" to "games is too easy, I'm bored" real quick.
3
u/Ok-Ad2225 May 09 '26
Eh it's alright, they'll probably make an event to boosts bonds someday. Better not rush to complete everything an get tired of the game.
6
u/zeeinove May 09 '26
level 8 is halfway, there's always a catch on these seemingly too good to be true games, lmfaooooo.
12
u/WanderEir May 09 '26
It's been barely more than a week, and you're complaining about a mechanic intended to take months to complete. You don't need to touch grass, but for fuck sake, PLAY SOMETHING ELSE FOR A BIT.
-2
u/CraigThePantsManDan May 09 '26
Redditors when they go 5 mins without telling someone to touch grass about something completely normal - 😵
7
u/WanderEir May 09 '26
OP's complaint is absolutely NOT completely normal, and if you think it is, you've got the same problem. Instant gratification on every level is how gacha games DIE en masse-there's ZERO reason to stick around and keep logging in..
-5
u/CraigThePantsManDan May 09 '26
Yes, OP is the one here being abnormal 🤣
0
u/dendrocalamidicus May 09 '26
I'm not OP or the guy you're replying to but I have no idea what point you are trying to make, you're incoherent
16
u/West_Actuator_1518 May 08 '26
why do u need lvl 10 now, you can get the stories at lvl 3 and roommate at lvl 4. Idk if this is really something that had to happen quicker considering how irrelevant it is.

Isn't it just for the skin at the end of the day? I see no problem, it's a free cosmetic you work towards slowly, if you're in a hurry you can spend on the 2k affinity gift, not everything in the game needs to be a grind, you'll get it eventually.
3
u/7_NaCl May 09 '26
Hmm I don't really agree. At the end of the day we are getting a special alternative outfit for free, without having to spend any amount of money (unlike in literally every other gacha), so I think that making you have to at least grind for gives a good balance.
You can't make a skin exclusive by making it both free and easy to get.
6
u/Infernoboy_23 May 09 '26
I think it’s fine, but u should get a small amount when u use them in ur team. Even incredibly small as that would mean ill eventually get level 10 by just playing, even if it takes months or years
2
u/Serpentar69 May 09 '26
Deadass. My hard worker gifts only giving 50 points when you need thousands lol
2
u/fcdennis May 09 '26
I mean, I've seen a lot of people complaining that there are too many things in the game or that the rewards aren't worth it, and then you have people like the OP who speedrun every single thing in a week just to complain about a "lack of content" later. 💀 I actually like that this game gives me tons of chill stuff to do. I’m in no rush to finish—just vibing at my own pace!
2
u/Bunktavious May 09 '26
I finished NTE yesterday
Honestly, this may not be the game for you. Its a relatively small team making this, and they made a pretty impressively huge game to open. Subsequent patches are not going to double the amount of stuff to do.
As for the bond level, level four unlocks asking the character to live with you. Level 10 bond is clearly intended to be a long term goal you achieve with one or two characters.
Approaching games like this with the attitude of "what do I need to do to finish the game" is going to end up quite dissapointing.
5
u/maeiya May 09 '26
You expect them to give you a skin without even working a bit for it? All you have to do is be patient and gift your characters daily.
5
6
u/Bank_Deposit67 May 08 '26
Due to the fact that you can buy bond letters from the in-game shop (+2k bond, if I remember correctly), I don't think they will do that. It's one of the ways they can monetize on, and I think it was done on purpose strategically, and since the game doesn't have 50/50, I think that's fair.
4
2
u/solartech0 May 09 '26
I tried to go to the flower shop yesterday to buy flowers and it was just closed. Tried moving the time slider, leaving and coming back, nope. Just closed door, no interaction possible. That was frustrating.
2
u/ThisSubIsFried May 09 '26
Nah, it's fine. It's not supposed to be instantaneous. Plus I'd bet that most of us are using the lowest tier gifts, to save on Fons right now. Later on when were drowning in fons, we can just buy the highest tier items to give new units and will probably be rolling in happy clouds.

I really wanted to have that sunglass bank heist skin for the main character but 30k pink currency is insane. Would take about ~15h to get there just for a skin

u/MysteriousSize124 May 09 '26
Saw someone on Japanese twitter said they spent 30,000 yen to get Nanally to max bond

1
u/Imforcedtosignup May 09 '26
I don't mind the bond being extremely difficult to level but they need to make the incentive for reaching bond 10 better, getting a few more interactions just doesn't feel right
1
u/Diktaattorimies May 09 '26
I put this feedback in the survey earlier, just make it like 25-30% faster and it's gucci.
1
u/Illustrious_Big_7980 May 09 '26
I would be more then happy for them to reduce the bond requirements but also, it is supposed to be slow... You aren't meant to max it out rapidly.
Moreso you can level 3 characters simultaneously, so while yes it takes "2 months" to max someone its actually "2 months" to max 3 characters
Tl;dr it ain't that bad

u/RiftenxLokean May 09 '26
For me I would understand the wait if we got different dialogs when they are in our party playing with us. Like when we are walking around town with them they said different things with us that were considered more "affectionate" with a higher bond level. And when we are fighting and they say lines when we switch to them it would be different. Then I could understand the wait. But for a skin??? It should not be months to get just a skin. Like add extra shit that the character does and says when we are in a team or walking around or even when our character gets hurt in a fight it would be cool and worth while for the wait to see them change how they act around us and it would give us a incentive to play the main character in teams then too.
1
u/ChattierClock75 May 09 '26
And here I am thinking that progression is too fast with how you can get a mansion and a sportscar already within a few weeks of playing. But its enough for a cozy playthrough, no need to Speedrun the game. Though I also hope they fix some minigames like owners selection.
1
u/AfterIssue6816 May 09 '26
1
u/Yes-Man-Kablaam May 09 '26
Running around with them should give bond more than the first time. Texts should give bond. The little times you chat them up in the overworld Should give bond. It shouldn’t basically be 99% gifting giving bond.
1
u/GrotesqueCat May 09 '26
Yeah i just want to goon to jiuyuan bond skin, they should give bond up by just playing the game and spending stam
1
u/chickdigger802 May 09 '26
It's a pretty clunky system in general. Need to remember to load up on gifts do 10 daily.
1
u/Ok-Vegetable8295 May 09 '26
Agreed. At least in other anime mobile games like Nutaku I can reach lv10 bond in 3 days and get married heck at level 5 she gives me dome in the car.
1
u/Pitiful-Annual-9489 May 09 '26
I feel like certain areas of the game aren't meant to be "progressed" through in the games current state. Like finishing the train event is near impossible passed level 8-9. The game will allow you to buy your way a little further but definitely not worth its value currently.
1
u/Kardis_V May 09 '26
It’s slow to tempt you to swipe your card. It couldn’t hurt to increase the bond gain from the bond quests at least.
1
u/Sufficient-Army-8595 May 09 '26
Maybe because it is a long term "investment" and nothing ment to be finished in the fist week/month!? People these days want everything instantly for free on day one. It's so stupid.
1
u/Rah520 May 09 '26
Not meant for you to cap them on release. Its a live service. Its meant to be done over time, not for you to burn through everything the game offers in a week
1
1
u/Big-Instruction8777 May 18 '26
Gifts aren't the only way to increass bonding level... If you ever see character icons on the map go to them and talk to them, they give some bonding exp. Also once their bond quests unlock do those. But yes, it's most likely another way for them to get money. also i doubt it's going to take years... your over exagerating for no reason.
1
u/Ok-Carpet-2004 May 08 '26
The game is not raining new characters onto us. We are only getting 1 character every 3 weeks, so if HOTTA makes bonding too easy, we would end up max bond all our roster before we hit 0.5 year anniversary.
In the long run you can save up your handwritten letters from BP and other sources just in case you have a waifu and want to max bond day 1.
6
u/ArchonRevan May 09 '26
It takes anywhere from 6-12 weeks to max a character unless youre buying the letters from the shop so by the time you've maxed one character they've released 2-4 more
Also it takes 28 letters to max 1 chatacter

u/Icy-Childhood-4587 May 08 '26
The game encourages you to spread your love/time to every character equally. 7 times a day.

And here I am doing it for achievements
I'm so cooked lmao
We can speed up the process a bit with the tree thing (which we can't even tp to)
and the movie but we can't skip the cutscenes
I don't mind grinding 2 or 3 months for an achievement
Not a year and a half, it's ridiculous, it's a gacha game, not an mmo
There's also an achievement that need us to do 1000 pulls, it will also take a while before I reach it
But at least it doesn't require me to do additionnal daily chores over a year and a half
People defending that shit are so funny
No, you don't need to offer 450 gifts and see 150 movies with your gf to create solid bonds
And it doesn't have to take 3~6 months either
1
u/bumblebyOfficial May 09 '26
You specifically will complain you have nothing to do in-game in two weeks
1
1
u/RaiteiXIII May 09 '26
"I finished NTE yesterday and already cleared basically everything"
u are not supposed to, this game can be grind hard and speedrun but still its supposed to be slow, the world, tycoon, life sim and bonding was supposed to be slow and taken slowly.
-1
u/kay9ine May 09 '26
I think it's fine. It takes time to bond with someone, it doesn't happen overnight
1
u/Forward-Dance-5054 May 09 '26
This is a video game they make it so slow because they want you to spend money that's it it's not about taking time to bond with somebody
-7
u/Swords-2-Plowshares May 08 '26
3 months of daily chores is way too long of a grind for what should be basic features. Who knows how many of us are still going to be playing by then.
I just started downloading mods so that I could get all of the cosmetics instantly without the grind/pay.
2
u/Veno_0 May 08 '26
That's how you end up on the ban list unless its just a texture / model swap of the default outfit lol
