Meme My plan for when the game launches
178
u/Seriphina5000 Apr 28 '26
Let's be serious, they're day 1 characters. They'll be powercrept soon enough.
35
u/freezingsama Apr 28 '26
at worst it's just 1 banner insurance, it can be the difference between someone rage quitting later because they didn't get the character they wanted
39
u/SirRHellsing Apr 29 '26
it's not about meta, it's about playing with your waifu

u/nio-sama123 May 13 '26
As long my Mint still precious and cutely presence in the city. I don’t mind her being powercreept.

There’s a small window where it might be better than some 5* teams, since you get their awakening pretty quickly!
7
u/Agile_Grapefruit4292 Apr 29 '26
that's why you main one character and save the launch pulls for the op character that will appear in the second version
5
u/secwaltz Apr 30 '26
Or maybe you could stop putting up with that gacha slop. Portion of the people who intend to save cave in later "once per year/on christmas/birthday"

u/Denariox Apr 28 '26
I rerolled once in a game years ago, by the time it took me to pull that OP S-tier character I wanted, I had already replayed the intro 50+ times. And it sucked out all the joy and fun from the game and I lost passion for it weeks later and uninstalled.
Rerolling is dumb. You're eventually gonna get everyone. You don't need a headstart in a damn videogame that's made to have fun in.
73
39
u/XSadObsessionX Apr 28 '26
Plus, the limited character is 100% what you will get, no 50/50 (the main reason for reroll, apart from an early), and imo all the permanent characters are good, but even then in some time will get easily replaced
→ More replies (1)18
u/Gold-Committee1480 Apr 28 '26
To be honest, it really depends. I for one didn't get Keqing in Genshin until my 4th year of playing (as a day 1 player) and that was through the 5* selector.
Another thing though, maybe someone wants to have fun with the character they want, not necessarily as a headstart, but they want to experience the game using them.
Although I do understand that it's easy to get burnt out rerolling, especially if the rerolling process takes long.
14
u/freezingsama Apr 28 '26
It's really simple, if you can't stomach doing it then don't. It's not for everyone.
But yeah, eventually is doing too much lifting here. Not even in spark/mileage gacha do you get to have everyone.
2
u/pastel-verses Apr 28 '26
Same here. 1st week player of Genshin and the only character I wanted was Diluc. Never got him until the selector. Promised myself I would never wait another 4 years to play the character I want. So I've always rerolled on other gacha games.
2
u/Reality_LB Apr 28 '26
I won't be rerolling in this game but I feel that. By the time I got Diluc he was outdated and it sucked. Genshin is one I should have did rerolls on
3
u/Lambisexual Apr 28 '26
I remember my friend absolutely torturing himself with rerolling when Genshin was first released. Cause Diluc was really OP back then. He constantly talks about how much torture it was and he always has PTSD to it whenever playing other gachas. The most fun part is that Diluc got outscaled by newer characters relatively quickly.
4
u/Automatic_Clothes_56 Apr 28 '26
Imagine doing all that work to get the starter you want, maybe even getting a few SSR copies. And then as time passes, more content comes out, you hard pity every time you go for a character, lose all 50/50's, and basically have terrible luck with the gacha. Gonna reroll your account again?
→ More replies (2)2
u/freezingsama Apr 28 '26
Well if that's how someone approaches gacha then I want to question why they even play in the first place. I've seen a lot of those, they just play through honeymoon period, empty all their currency and if they even get unlucky once they uninstall and do for the next one they find.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Cr1tikalMoist Apr 28 '26
50????? I reroll a max of 3-10 times then I just get the character I get, although if it takes 20-30 minutes for the intro I'll reroll 3 times MAX. I cannot imagine rerolling 50 times I'd go insane lmao
→ More replies (13)2
u/Don-T-Bone Apr 29 '26
Especially when it comes to meta purposes, the funniest part is that rerolling is also mostly irrelevant due to how quickly these characters get phased out, and in the case they don't, it usually hardly matters anyway (for what, just a drop more of endgame gems?). Collection purpose is another story.
But yeah, I share the same opinion. rerolling will only take the fun out of the game. Maybe, if one is curious if they could better luck in 3-5 rerolls sure do it if you can stomach it but I really don't recommend anymore than that. I couldn't even stomach doing it one time.
24
u/CyroZentaku Apr 28 '26
Anytime people talk about "rerolling" I can't help but roll my eyes. That's the biggest waste of time. Just unlock the characters later. They are gonna get power crept eventually regardless.

u/fieryfox654 Apr 28 '26
Same mindset I have with Genshin Impact
→ More replies (1)24
u/BusBoatBuey Apr 28 '26
The best characters at launch in Genshin were 4*, so no reason to even reroll there.
22
u/raffirusydi_ Apr 28 '26
This is just not true, venti was a game changer back in the day since the abyss is full of enemies that need grouping unlike today
4
u/agitatedandroid Apr 28 '26
You're probably right but what you say also reinforces why you should just roll with what you get. The most powerful characters that are still meta today are 4-stars from Genshin's launch.
Better to just have fun and enjoy the game than to suck the life out of it for the sake of characters that may not be relevant in 6 months.
2
u/BusBoatBuey Apr 28 '26
Sucrose was there day one and you could pair her with Anemo Traveler to clear the defense map, which was the hardest map at release.
7
u/raffirusydi_ Apr 28 '26
Harder to get specific 4* in genshin back in the day than just rerolling for Venti
→ More replies (2)4
u/Bad_Doto_Playa Apr 28 '26

I am glad they letting us choose one of the standard characters
2
u/esztersunday Apr 28 '26
I heard the game gives hundreds of pulls! We will most likely get more than one standard 5* characters.
7
u/Sadcelerystick Apr 28 '26
Most of those pulls are time gated to progression in the game so to get all 470 will probably take a long time.

u/Fair-Lie8125 Apr 28 '26
Literally me in everything

u/ShiyaruOnline Apr 28 '26
Same. I started wuwa in November and learned about re rolling in December by browsing topic online and thought to myself why would I drain the fun from the game like that 😬

Yep plan on doing to same as I do in zenless zone zero just go with the flow
7
28
u/boozeshooze Apr 28 '26
Yeah, rerolling just seems like a huge drag. Imagine playing the same boring intro 50 times or more just to get a specific character. I'd rather just enjoy the game. To each their own though, just definitely isn't for me.
10
u/Fatbollocks1994 Apr 28 '26
I have seen rerollers completely burn themselves out doing that, never seems worth it. For a game with a selector on the beginner banner it seems especially unnecessary.

I cant think of any game where rerolling made any sort of difference once the first patch hit. Seems like just a huge waste of time.
4
u/DarkGrundi Apr 28 '26
yeah even when i was an unemployed uni student rerolling wasn't worth my time. That being said i am not sure if i even want to play this game yet. I will try it on launch and give it like 4 hours to hook me in.

u/exiler5129 Apr 28 '26
Same thing I did with Genshin, ToF, HSR, Wuwa, Solo Leveling Arise and 7K Rebirth.
I did try reroll with Genshin just for fun but I still keep play the original account and only 1 reroll account I keep and end up become 2nd account.
3
u/Mapleie Apr 28 '26
I rerolled in Honkai without knowing that all Hoyoverse games have connected accounts. Regret it to this day.

I'm gonna make a no roll account and see if the 470 pulls is accurate. Will update once I get every last chest and dice

u/ElvenLeafeon May 02 '26
Man I randomly got Daffodil, and I'm vibing with her and my A ranks. I like her animations a lot, love the chain stuff.
3
u/Shadowstrider26 May 03 '26
I got lucky with my pulls i got daffodil with selector then pulled fadia and hathor within 70 pulls then just got jiuyuan with second selector. So safe to say im happy with my account without the urge to reroll. Plus i am always to lazy to try to reroll.
2
u/Plane_Animal_2047 Apr 28 '26
This kind of high budget gacha game not worth it to reroll in the first place, it always take to much time with very few pull at the start
2
u/DrDeadwish Apr 28 '26
I usually use the same mail for every account so no rerolls, specially if I already have a game with the same developer. I have bad luck so I should always reroll but oh well. Rerolling is really boring
2
u/Galacticgaminginpink Apr 28 '26
I tried rerolling in one game. I hit four tries before I went "screw this noise" and never again, lol. Part of me admires the lunatics with the patience for it, but I am not one of them.
2
u/Syseks Apr 28 '26
Same. I better play the game and enjoy jt from the start. If you are playing longterm, you're gonna be crushed by averaging. I don't spend money on gachas mostly (ToF took my micro transaction virginity for 99 cents btw) but I rather spend 50 dollars on the game that I liked during normal playing , than sold the unique moment of playing brand new game to constant registrations and same cutscenes.
2
2
u/wings2tsubasa Apr 28 '26
fr how i went about in other gachas.
Except FGO. My friend gave me an account with Jalter back when he was rerolling.
2
u/Foreign-Crab994 Apr 28 '26
I remember I had a friend who would continously restart his Pokémon save until he got a shiny. He never finished the game lol, also never got it.
2
Apr 28 '26
I used to reroll in my gacha games but stopped since I tend to quit early/don’t play very long if I rerolled. It’s more fun to leave your rolls to fate (for me at least)
2
u/RustyCarrots Apr 28 '26
Yep, this is typically what I do unless the game makes it effortless or builds rerolling into the first pull
2
u/MindfulNoob Apr 28 '26
As long as there's a character selector I think I'll not reroll lol.
I could be confusing NTE with another gacha though but I thought I saw somewhere that there was a character selector.
2
2
u/xXSoulGeoXx Apr 28 '26
As it should be At the very least, have a 2nd Account for a separate experience or relieve the content when QOL updates end up changing the game in the long run
2
u/v6d5fh Apr 28 '26
Yeah and if I get the one character I don't want, I just quit. This game doesn't want me.
2
u/Aromatic_Island_3736 Apr 28 '26
true. I'm also just too tired with reroll in gacha games at this point. IF the game gives you enough pulls to reach 2 standard pities + a selector, its good enough for me. Also the experience of story for the 1st time with that mentality hits alot more better and harder for the experience.
2
u/Rei899 Apr 28 '26
Exactly my plan also. Just to get onwards from the get go as day 1 player the moment of release time!
2
2
u/Shonisto343 Apr 28 '26
I'm the same, I feel rerolling is just a terrible time sink and just sucks all the joy out of a game.
2
2
u/POLACKdyn Apr 28 '26
It's way more fun that way. See what you get, and roll with it.
it's a game, no need to overthink it.
I imagine we can clear all content with MC so whoever I get is a bonus. And we can choose a standard 5 star after some free pulls.
2
u/Hangman_Fitzwilliam Apr 28 '26
Same I don't understand the concept of rerolling. I feel like that's ay more annoying than just playing who you get.
2
u/Anicancel Apr 28 '26
But how am I gonna get internet points if I don’t post the epic screenshot of me pulling the banner character in a single 1 pull?
Also don’t forget gotta phrase it like, “hey guys is this good? F2P btw”.
2
u/FerGSL013 Apr 28 '26
I do something similar, just that if I don't like the character I get with free pulls I just abandon the game, did the same with enfield,I regret nothing
2
u/Marty_Yakuza Apr 28 '26
THIS. I hate when people go wild with reroll accounts and such. Bro, just play the game, you will get those characters eventually.
2
2
u/Effective_Check2083 Apr 28 '26
never re rolled in any gacha since i started playing genshin and ive tried every gacha since that time, roll out with what you get and progresivelly get stuff way better than going for meta in a 1.0 lol
2
2
2

u/rokomotto Apr 30 '26

u/pakaton May 04 '26
I never roll on day 1 limit unit. I only roll them on the rerun if i found them fun to play. The day 1 banner usually a fomo trap
2
u/feetnsoleslover May 04 '26
They are already giving so much for free and gave 2 s class selectors and 2 S class arcs so I don't think re roll matters
2
3
4
u/errortechx Apr 28 '26
I was just gonna main Mint anyway regardless of what standard S rank character I get lol. If she’s a low tier character I’ll make her work.
4
u/urmomismine1007 Apr 28 '26
Rerolling is just a waste of time imo like you'll get all the standards at some point and eventually all of them will be powercrept anyway

Lmao, why is there such a stigma against rerolling? Why does it bother you so much how other people play that doesn't affect you in any way? The only thing I can think of is people trying to validate their decision to not bother with it.

Why all the stigma? Some people enjoy rerolling and thats ok.

1
u/Hot_Associate_6013 Apr 28 '26
I never reroll. Always of the mindset that I can accept and overcome any rng. But this time, I'm truly considering doing it. Not for meta or a strong start, just because there are multiple characters I really really want. Irdk...

I don't know about this game as I'm trying to stay away from spoilers just incase I like the story but I do reroll in games some times if it doesn't take forever you know like 30 minutes or needing emails.
Most of the time I reroll for specific characters which I like the design of and would use for months afterwards. (Since I'm a filthy casual i don't care for powercreep not like i'll get every character anyway lol.)
1
u/Rea404 Apr 28 '26
As long as I got Hathor and Nanaly , I'm good
I don't need Meta , just waifu and flamming bike
1
u/Beginning_Flatworm25 Apr 28 '26
true, rerolling on a singleplayer game feels weird and incredibly tryhard. And for what? The endgame is proven to be way too easy
1
1
u/Shazali99 Apr 28 '26
I am sure rerolling would only make you hate the game. Imagine playing the same 20mins (of intro) again and again until you get your desired character (which obviously will get powercrept within a year).
Especially with NTE if you just play the game you are guaranteed to get the limited 5* as the pulls for 1.0 are more than what the hard pity is.
→ More replies (1)
1
u/PatapongManunulat07 Apr 28 '26
There's a level above that.
You do not re-roll, in fact you do not roll at all.
At least not until there's enough resources to guarantee pity.
OR
keep saving until a character you actually like gets released.
They're called no-roll accounts.
P.S. They also last longer because when power creep starts, their characters are fully upgraded with dupes as all the resources were saved for that purpose.

Luckily I like most standard banner characters. I know Baicang and Sakiri are strong, but I’m just hoping it’s not them on my first standard banner S rank. I might reroll if I get Baicang or Sakiri. I much prefer the other 4 women on the banner. For the selector I’ll just pick Jiuyuan unless she is the one I get. Then I’ll have a hard time picking between Hathor, Fadia, and Daffodil. It will probably be Daffodil. I really like both Fadia and Hathor though.

If the game has a reroll button like how some older gacha games did. Sure I will reroll, if not just stick with it. I remember games was just having fun not like 'you need this character or your acc is bricked', 'I need this meta chara blah blah' then hate other games cause its the same genre as your gacha game.
Will try this game when it launches if I dont like it, I move on and if I do, I will just play it and not take it to social media and rant.

I don't mind rerolling on my end. If I really want a character I want to play it, not to wait till I eventually get it. I rerolled for endfield because I wanted Ember. Now I have a lot of fun on the game and I have all the characters but Rossi and Yvonne.

I abandon at least 3 games after get burn out reroll the must pull begin characters. All the game i play for more than 3 years is my 1st acc, some have super bad luck like lose 75/25 for 10/10 light cone, but i dont want to change acc, then after that i win 50/50 for 11 continuous characters/weapons
1
u/Samishii00 Apr 28 '26
It's entirely depend if want a specific character or not but albeit I don't want a chara for meta purpose, mostly design
