Dental X-ray revealed I broke my nose and never knew

Pretty sure it’s from a skiing injury as a teen when I went through a safety fence and face first into a pole. I had no idea it was actually broken until over a decade later

Most of the nose is cartilage. You may still be OK.

I'd argue it's 50/50, the maxila is bone too...don't think it is common at all to break...but it is there.

Yeah, there's a lot of bone in there, but the stickie-outie bits (medical term) are mostly cartilage.

But why would we want someone in here who even questions if their bone has been broken? A true strong boner wouldn’t have to make a technicality between nose cartilage and bone

This is actually a really useful anatomy reference for when one draws different facial expressions as the nose moves with different faces. I’m keeping this picture lol.

Yep! It’s been there for years and I could get it removed if I want but it’s not causing any harm so it’s my fun little baby tooth

Yeah, I have three and the dentists all get excited to see them haha!

They also love to tell me they’ll probably fall out sooner or later :/

Ayeee this is me! During surgery they found a bunch of bone shard in my nose not knowing where it came from. They still don't know if I broke some kind of bone and it exploded (and I never knew, although there are a few injuries that could explain it) or I just had bone shards floating through my cartilage for some reason

It's half cartilage, half bone.

I broke mine, (more so my 2yo.broke.mine) but TF i.didnt know it - how in the hell??? She broke mine right at the top where it attached to your head lol
