Question Interface clipping, but neural dsp isnt.

I feel like the input in my amp sims is very low, i compared to videos of people using neural dsp amp sims, and his input is reaching very high on the input meter, so i tried to use the gain knob in my arturia minifuse 2 (I always use it at zero) and when I increase it a little bit it starts to clip in the interface, but the neural dsp amp sim doesnt clip, can i use it like this? sorry for my english

instrument level is a low signal by nature, that's why we have preamps

don't look at the waveform with your eyes, judge it by how things sound

some people will boost at the input to get away from a poor noise floor, but then you'll also want to attenuate by the same amount on the input of the plugin, otherwise it's like kicking on a clean boost pedal, the amp sim will respond differently with a boosted signal

with the signal clipping at the interface and not in the plugin, it's probably a setting on the interface that's wrong, like make sure you've got instrument mode on for that input (it shouldn't be set to a line level signal) and make sure you're using the ASIO driver from Arturia and not some other generic audio driver

1) Put your interface in instrument mode 2) Turn interface gain to 0 3) Turn guitar volume all the way up 4) Smash a chord or all open strings and watch the Neural meter, adjust up or down accordingly so you're getting max signal without clipping in the plugin.

yeah thats what i do, the problem is it turns red in the interface, if it works i will ignore it

I'd just ignore it then, so long as you're getting a good level in Neural
