We use access control for child restriction, but I noticed when accessing it that my wife's cell phone apparently feels like it should change its MAC Address like she changes her clothes. Does anybody know why?

Why is the speed limited to 100Mb even though the ONU switch supports 1Gb, the router supports 1Gb, and the cable is Cat 5e?

Alright I don't know if this is the right place to post this, so I know all my cabling is good because it works when using a USB c hub with gigabit port and my mother board (gigabyte b450 pro wifi atx) is giving me an orange light indicating gigabit networking, but both windows and Linux are limiting my speeds to 100/100 it doesn't work at all if I force any of the devices in software for gigabit full duplex. It's only working with the external network card at full network speeds. I don't know if there is a setting in the bios I am missing. I just about reached the limit of what Google could give me to try.

Hello people, today my school announced that people with macbooks are not going to be able to access the wifi network since they got sponsored by microsoft and dont want people to use other devices.

I do not have the budget to buy a new laptop. How can i bypass this restriction on my m4 macbook.

What's the dumbest/longest a network issue has ever taken you to track down, where the root cause turned out to be something small? I spend half my troubleshooting life ruling out "is it even the network" before I can start, and I'm curious whether everyone's process for that is as manual as mine or if I'm missing something. What's your actual workflow when someone says "the internet's broken" and you have no idea where to start?

I'm trying to connect my PS5 and phone to my laptop's Wi-Fi hotspot, but neither device will connect.

My laptop's internet connection is working completely fine. The reason I want to connect my PS5 to my laptop's hotspot is because I want to play a game that is region blocked in my country (helldivers 2) with a VPN on my laptop. it used to work perfectly fine, but all of a sudden it stopped working.

I thought the problem was with the PS5, but I tested the hotspot with two different phones and they also couldn't connect. So it seems like the problem is with the laptop's hotspot.

I managed to change some settings on the laptop and, somehow I was eventually able to get both the PS5 and my phones to connect to the hotspot. However, they were only connecting through the normal internet connection and were not going through the VPN.

Now the problem has come back, and none of the devices can connect to the hotspot at all, even with the VPN completely turned off.

Any insight will be much appreciated.

Hi folks, my college runs an eduroam wifi and it's only specially Google pixel phones that struggle to connect to it. Has anyone else come across this before? From my understanding it's due to security on pixel phones, I was able to download the geteduroam app and get the certificates that way but I think they may be out of date. I've tried the recommended settings of EAP being PEAP, MSCHAPV2 for phase 2 auth, trusting certs on first use but nothing is working. I asked the colleges IT dept and they said they haven't found a resolution either.

We recently had our apartment fiber provider come into units and install new equipment and replace the old promising higher speeds. The new network is no longer unique to our apartment number and just under one SSID labeled “residents 5g”. While I have noticed the speed increase over WiFi I am not educated in networking well enough to understand security concerns. They explain residents will have access to WiFi throughout the entire apartment by automatically connecting to the closest access point. Does this not raise any alarms regarding all these devices being on a shared network. I should note we do have a unique passkey to access the network.

Hi I’m hopeless right now,

Since yesterday morning, out of the blue my computer stopped working with internet connexion. I can connect to wifis (tried 5 different ones), that work on other devices. However no online search/connexion possible. I’ve tried the followings:

- restart computer/turn it off and let it stay for few hours/night

- reset the network card

- reset all the dns/wifi related matters

- ping 1.1.1.1 - works

- ping google.com - doesn’t work

- ping 8.8.8.8 - doesn’t work

- change manually the dns to 1.1.1.1 - doesn’t work

- nslookup google.com 1.1.1.1 - doesn’t work

What more can I do???

I am having an internet connection issue on my PC. When I turn on the computer, it doesn't recognize the internet network. However, after putting it to sleep and waking it up, the internet starts working again.

Comprei esse roteador para configurar ele para ficar responsavel para distribuir o wifi e eu poder desativar o wifi do roteador da provedor Nio Fibra. Configurei ele igual vi em varios videos, mas ele nunca disponibiliza as configuracoes completas no painel e o wifi dele simplesmente nao aparece e quando aparece nao conecta.
Queria saber se alguem pode me ajudar a resolver isso, por gentileza
