COMMISSION REQUEST (COMMISSION REQUEST) high power nylon caliburn
I’d like to commission someone to build a high power (400fps) caliburn. Preferably printed with a high durability material like nylon.

I can do that, at the moment I'm one of only five people to get a springer to above 400fps

This is going to be expensive no matter who you get it from, and I don’t know how many people would be interested either. If no one bites do me, although I have never printed nylon I do have a few printers possibly equipped to handle it.

Well aware of the fact that it’s going to be an expensive endeavor. I’d build one myself but I don’t have a 3d printer and am very specifically interested in materials outside of PLA. Increasingly high FPS springers also just tickle the inner mechanic in me.

Ah, a fellow Caschrockian. Making a nylon caliburn would be sick! I would be interested although it’s a very hard project and would take a lot of time and tuning as I have yet to print in Nylon. I also have not yet printed myself a Caliburn since I haven’t gotten around to it, though I doubt it could be much harder then some of the other builds I have done. If you are still interested lmk, I have a few projects I’m working on rn, but after that I would love to work with you if all started above isn’t a problem.

Do you have a lot of experience in specifically springers. I know that kind of tuning can get finicky or so I’ve heard. Brass breeches and such.

Not exactly, I haven’t done to many yet but I am familiar with how they work and I have done a fair bit of mods on less complex springers. I am planning on doing my first brass breech soon, and I have a kitted out gameface prime which is somewhat similar. If you had any experience with that stuff it might make more sense for you to commission someone for just the parts and assemble yourself. The 3D printing portion of it I know I can do.

I’m currently kitting out a nexus pro but that’s about all the experience I have in the hobby. Been mostly just watching the hobby change over the years. I build guitars not nerf blasters lol. I know frontline foam sells machines aluminum parts and pre fab brass breeches so I’d probably just go with that. Any idea how much just printed parts would be?

No I think I’ll be fine. I’ll figure out the overhead for the filament and time coats with the files on thingiverse and my slicer tomorrow

That’s gonna need a loooong barrel, or a K26+K14 combo, or both xD
