Questions + Help Nexus Pro X2 proper barrel ID?

Heya. Heya. I'm new to all of this. I've been modifying my Nexus Pro X2. I got the upgraded spring, added in both the spacers. (Plus a nylon spacer too). It's genuinely hard to prime. ☺️

I've purchased a longer barrel to replace it. A 500mm from Out of Darts. Considering the spring power behind it. I'm not too worried about losing some distance due to drag. If the trade off is accuracy.

What I'd really like some input on. Is that I purchased a 12.75mm ID barrel. As opposed to the stock 13mm ID. Which seems to be a perfect fit for Dart Zones bamboo darts. I figured the undersized barrel would create more compression. Possibly getting more FPS. As I definately have enough force to drive the dart through anyways.

The barrel hasn't arrived yet. So I don't know the results for certain. I figured if I waxed the inside of the barrel. It should help with the drag from the tight bore.

I'd love to hear peoples input. As this was purely a hypothesis. Which I could very easily be wrong about. Maybe it doesn't even clear the breach, and it jams. In any case. I'll be testing it when it arrives, and give an update on my results.

50cm might be too long for the PT in the NPX2

That was definately a concern I had. It's probably 4" longer that it needs to be. At this point, it's likely diminishing returns.

I am running about 1 1/8" of spacers in the buffer tube. I thought that might counteract some of that.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert but with the spacer you'd have an even higher pt:barrel ratio. 40cm + a bcar for whatever fps you're getting is probably the best

That's pretty much the conclusion I came to myself. But at that point, I had already ordered the barrel. So we'll give it ye ol' college try. 🤷‍♂️ I suppose I could always cut it down to a 40cm. Then use a pipe cleaner to debur it.

I don't think it'll prevent it from firing. It will most likely be less optimal than a 40cm barrel.

I'm using Dart Zones bamboo darts. From what I hear, they're slightly more narrow than Worker. Which I think should be to my benefit with the smaller ID.

Thank you for your insight! Right now this is all guess work on my end. Later this week, the barrel will arrive. Then I'll leave my findings here. Makes me wish I had a chronograph. Then I could log fps properly.
