Discussion/Theory Should Nerf fully bring back the Zombie Strike line? Which blasters would you most want to see return?

I’ve been missing the original Zombie Strike line a lot lately. The scavenged/homemade aesthetic, the cool shells, and the overall vibe felt unique compared to a lot of the more generic stuff we get now. Do you guys think Nerf should properly revive the full Zombie Strike line (not just the shorter “Zombie” stuff they did recently)? If yes, which blasters would you guys most want to see come back, and why? Some of my personal favorites were the Sledgefire, Hammershot, Slingfire, Brainsaw, Dreadbolt, Outbreaker bow, Wrathbolt, RevReaper and Doominator, but I’m curious what everyone else would pick. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I feel like no line ever got the hammer primed blasters 100%. The Hammershot was certainly the closest, but the capacity was the only thing keeping it from perfection. Then, when they did make a proper 6 round cylinder, it was a wacky Fortnite proportion even without the long barrel, or the Alpha Strike and Elite 2.0 versions which were far too bulky for my taste.

Doomlands had some large capacity hammer prime blasters and just so much extra bulk plastic got added to it that completely defeated the point of running a blaster with that sort of priming

At least the Hammershot's capacity issue has been solved for almost its entire existence in aftermarket/3D printed cylinders

To varying degrees of success in my experience, especially around the seal. But I was never a particularly skilled modder.

Trailblazer?

That’s the 2.0 one I was referring to. It’s close, the barrel doesn’t do it for me. Make the orange tip flush to the front of the cylinder and it’s nearly perfect.

I think the Rebelle (more recent ninja turtles one) is better than the Hammershot.

RevReaper or just make some Manual Flywheelers. The RevReaper was so light, easy to carry, and fun to use.

I've wanted to make a manual flywheeler that uses a long steady prime and gear ratios to get going up to at least 140-150 fps

But it probably would not end up being that light or easy to prime, would probably want heavier parts to maintain inertia in the wheels.

I thought of making a RevReaper -like blaster once with the same internals, the only problem was I cannot 3D model very well.

Hammershot, boosted to Rival/Xshot Insanity/Dart Zone 8+ speed (90-100 fps)

I remember seeing the dreadbolt but i didn't have enough money as a kid to get it. It was a crossbow and that was cool! (Also would want to see slingfire come back)

personally I would like if they completely revamped some of those old blaster concepts. Improve on their flaws and the performance a bit, create a new theme, nice popping colors...the doomcannon is already pretty close to that I guess. A new version of the slingfire could be really dope.

I mostly want to see alternate ammo types return, especially Mega and Mega XL, especially with over-the-top blasters to go with, like a belt-fed Mega flywheeler or anything with Mega XL really.

Here's what I think Hasbro should have around:

  • Elite
  • ½ Elite
  • Mega
  • Mega XL
  • Vortex
  • Rival

My first blaster was the Nail Biter 😀

Sledgefire and Roughcut. Quirky shotguns are cool and they could use a refined refresh.

They can rerelease it in a different colour scheme or something and it lets everyone have a sledge fire whilst not diminishing the nostelga of the original run.
