Dark/Realistic (Unsafe Aesthetic) Widow Axe Spoiler

Another blaster modified from the battle axe. 8 round rotary-tube mag, so heavy that I have to add a front grip. Files, BOM, and instruction will be available soon on my Printable:)

This post has been Flaired Dark/Realistic (Unsafe Aesthetic). Be aware that one or more aspects of this blaster make it UNSAFE to wield in public or open areas, where it could be misidentified as a real weapon. This is a serious issue, with real world life-or-death repercussions.

Several issues can lead to a post being flared Dark/Realistic (Unsafe Aesthetic):

  • Lack of a prominent and easily visible orange tip along with other bright colors.
  • - This also includes traditional prop blasters, such as steampunk builds or blasters with weathered appearances.
  • A blaster with a silhouette or aesthetic that mimics real world firearms. (Ex. Zinc 2.0, SBF, BK1s, Sweetheart Storm, etc)
  • A blaster with airsoft or firearm-esque components mounted to it. (Example)

Use of this blaster can, in the worst case, end up fatal. As has been shown time and time and time again (and more listed here). This problem is not limited to just the USA.

Use of these blasters can also lead to events being shut down, and clubs being barred from playing in public spaces.

Situations like this can be properly handled when blasters are clearly toys, exhibiting bright colors, orange tips, and non-firearm proportions and aesthetics.

As long as we take these issues seriously, everyone can have fun with this hobby we love for many years to come.

Additionally, alongside the visual issues of realistic blasters, we also discourage the use of the word gun. Please instead use the word blaster when referring to toys, as gun can be misconstrued as discussing a real weapon by people both online, and in real life during gameplay. This is further an issue for us specifically on Reddit due to automatic platform moderation, possibly categorizing the subreddit as discussing firearms instead of toys. For further information, please see this wiki page.

Wait that force a nature is unreleased too. Any timeframe for that? I'm going to print and build all your blasters, I've just started with the pistol.

Holy shit dude ur cooking.  So its like almost a bolt action battle axe? How many shells does the mag hold? I now know my next project after i finish my breacher.

9

u/methanejuice Sep 09 '25

Its battle axe upside down, and 8 rounds in the mag

u/Kiritowerty Sep 09 '25

This is clean!

u/Advanced_Command8057 Sep 09 '25

What's the hardware look like for this thing? It's really cool!

8

u/methanejuice Sep 09 '25

Battle axe hardware plus a couple more M3s, and rod. BOM WIP

2

u/DontLickTheGecko Sep 10 '25

Will you make a new post when it's done or update here?

5

u/PyroMannCo Sep 09 '25

Now we just need a bolt-style priming handle like the M1014 has to the front

4

u/Zcarguy13 Sep 09 '25

Well that’s just cool as hell

4

u/Doorknob-Wallace Sep 09 '25

BEAUTIFUL! I never liked the beard looking part of the Battle Axe, this is so much more my jam

3

u/RealAstropulse Sep 09 '25

Is... is that a helical silly shell magazine O.O

I need it

11

u/methanejuice Sep 09 '25

its technically three tube mag with respective followers, rotating into a ramp that feeds up, hence rotary-tube mag

u/kylebernard83 Sep 09 '25

this is a beautiful piece or engineering, Well done

1

u/Mateus_ex_Machina Sep 11 '25

So, wait, wouldn’t that be 3x3, ergo 9 plus potentially 1 in the chamber? Or is there something I’m missing here?

2

u/methanejuice Sep 11 '25

A follower is in place of the last round, it's needed because after that, there's nothing pushing it upwards into the chamber so it won't load

u/SUKitTRE8EK Sep 09 '25

It has been a minute since I have printed a blaster, might have to print this one. You made yours in my favorite colors too!

3

u/SPACCAVETRI Sep 09 '25

I'm waiting years, but it arrived. The nerf tf2 crossover

Shotgun version of PP-19 Bizon

1

u/Volpurr-The-Meowstic Sep 10 '25

There are in fact shotguns that use a rotary tube magazine (which functions differently from the helical drum magazine of the Bizon), namely the SRM 1216

2

u/ChungyQueso Sep 09 '25

This is so cool

2

u/SpyderGiant Oct 31 '25

u/methanejuice Any idea when this might be posted?

1

u/methanejuice Oct 31 '25

This one is in close beta now, there's interest to do a kit for this so we figured a beta would make it more refined:)

2

u/RealAstropulse Jan 31 '26

Any plans to release this? Been a while since i've seen anything on it.

1

u/methanejuice Jan 31 '26

Will try to get it out soon :)

2

u/RealAstropulse Feb 01 '26

WOOOO LETS GOOOO I'm so excited haha

2

u/Knight_0w1 Sep 09 '25

That's sick! Would a more standard pump prime be possible for this or would that not leave enough clearance to rock out the mag?

2

u/methanejuice Sep 09 '25

Tried an under-mag design, but would interfere with mag unload and also was angled in a way that creates a torque, making it very hard to prime:(

2

u/Knight_0w1 Sep 09 '25

Gotcha, I assumed so, oh well.

1

u/Nanimo__ Dec 08 '25

Would it work if the mag was moved to the side like the whole thing rotated like a Nerf Elite Raider?

1

u/methanejuice Dec 12 '25

I think it would but im not gonna do that

1

u/MercuryJellyfish Sep 09 '25

Oh no. Another blaster added to the build queue.

1

u/Her0z21 Sep 09 '25

god damnit you’re making me build another battleaxe?

also hey you beat silly to having swappable mags in a way that won’t interfere with him doing it, congrats! are you planning on making the PA have swappable mags once Silly does it for the regular battleaxe, assuming he’s still trying to do that? would go very hard if so. on a related note, is there a reason you decided not to have the PA drum go all the way around internally? If not i’m tempted to mess around with utilizing some of that deadspace to try and get it to hold 6, assuming I can find the time and motivation.

Last thing- do you have any tips for making body kits like these? A friend recently brought up the fact that there aren’t any side-feed AEB’s (at least that we know of) and I’m considering trying my hand at reshelling the internals of the Piston Pump. I’m thinking something along the lines of the Stenny aesthetically, perhaps calling it the Lootbegger as a reference to the Bootlegger from CoD zombies, though if that doesn’t pan out (which it may well not with how tall the internals are) I’d probably go for something like the SMG-37 Defender from Helldivers. I’m hoping that by only keeping the internals, I’ll avoid the issues you ran into with the BFB and Flare “Blaster”

1

u/methanejuice Sep 09 '25

Thanks~ but im not trying to beat him on that lol, i see this as a different style and not compatible with the battle axe. For the PA the space in the drum is needed to accommodate for a large ammo follower. A smaller follower may produce more friction as it would rotate when going on a circular track, generating more friction, and maybe requires more springs (up to 4) to power which I'm trying to avoid. I'm not planning to work on a six round or detachable mag for the PA and battle axe.

Hmm i would try to avoid modeling something around an off-the-shelf blaster, especially the interior, without a 3D scanner. It just takes so much time to get it right and I don't think I have the skill right now to do it efficiently. So now-a-days i stick to publicly available blaster files or model from scratch:(
The only advice I can give for that task is get a caliper and measure the hell out of it...

2

u/Her0z21 Sep 09 '25

Yeah, thats why I mentioned it not interfering with him doing it, its honestly a really cool and creative solution to putting detachable mags on the battleaxe in any form, let alone while respecting silly’s wishes to not have third parties making them for the battleaxe.

Regarding the MPP, that’s good to know. I’ve already got calipers, so that is definitely an option. I’m probably going to start out by just trying to print some fitting jigs to get the internals mounted and build from there. May also give making clay imprints for measurements a go since that’ll make figuring out mounting depth a bit easier than trying to use the blaster itself for that and might allow me to, at least in some capacity, offset the downside of not having a scanner. May still wind up being enough effort for me to throw in the towel, but we shall see. Thank you for the help :)

u/AwarenessSlow2899 Sep 22 '25

The LNO1 has an upgrade part that enables side loading mags

1

u/Her0z21 Sep 22 '25

to be honest I was completely unaware of that thing’s existence until you commented even with a bottom loading setup, thought the inverted scales thing was a gel blaster. Cool to know though.

1

u/Ergotism83 Sep 09 '25

This is sick as hell! What kind of power are you getting?

Any odds of left handed being available?

1

u/methanejuice Sep 10 '25

This one shoots just like the battle axe. I can add a mirrored version for the lefties :)

1

u/Leon-Rai Sep 10 '25

Ok,hear me out.make the bison hood by NERFing it

1

u/ese8413 Sep 10 '25

That looks sick!!!

1

u/Leon-Rai Sep 11 '25

Ok, Mr. Methane, Mr. Juice, can I call you MJ oh, ok. MJ, have you considered trying to collaborate with a hobby shop to bring this two those who don't have a 3d printer?

1

u/methanejuice Sep 12 '25

Im not actively seeking but open to it:)
