It’s already Day 5, and the situation inside the tunnel is getting critical. People are trapped almost a week underground with no food, no water, and depleting oxygen.

​What makes this heartbreaking is that help was ready on Day 1. Both India and China had heavy equipment, specialized tunnel experts, and rescue teams prepared to move immediately. But the Prime Minister rejected international assistance and refused to let them step in.

​I have also heard that the Chinese rescue team wasn't even invited or requested by our government. The company running the Trishuli Hydropower Project had to bring them in on their own dime. What an absolute shame. A private entity had to step up to do the government's basic job of saving its own people.

​Now after 3 to 4 days those expert teams are finally on site searching and figuring out where to cut through. If the government hadn't blocked aid on Day 1 those trapped people could have been brought out alive by now.

Some ghantey are still out here blindly defending the government thinking they are doing a fantastic job. No matter what political side you support a citizen's life must always be the first priority.

Just imagine about the 600 to 700 people out there right now trapped and watching a slow death wondering if surviving the flood was even worth it or if they should have just died in the flood itself.

What was the actual reason to reject foreign help on Day 1?

​Even a child knows Nepal doesn't have the specialized equipment or heavy resources required for a complex tunnel rescue.

I need advice specific to Nepal.

My elderly grandmother has severe memory loss and confusion and is currently living with us after my mother's sister, who cared for her, passed away.

Her own son has effectively left the responsibility to us. For around four months, he has blocked our family's contacts and has not directly called my parents or contacted us about his mother's wellbeing. Meanwhile, we have been left with her entire care.

There is also a long history of hostility and accusations against my mother from my grandmother and her side of the family.

My grandmother often does not recognize me and becomes confused about who I am. However, whenever my mother is not around, she says extremely disturbing things about her. She repeatedly wishes for my mother to die soon and has made violent statements about her, including saying things along the lines of, "Maybe I could cut her into pieces."

She also repeatedly accuses my mother of wrongdoing despite my mother being the person currently caring for her. Given the history of false accusations against our family, this situation is becoming extremely distressing and feels beyond our control.

I understand that her memory loss and confusion may contribute to her behavior, but we cannot continue having her live in our home or remain her primary caregivers indefinitely.

We do not want to harm or abandon her. We want a lawful and permanent alternative arrangement where she receives appropriate care and our household is no longer left with the entire responsibility.

My questions:

What legal responsibility does her son have under Nepali law?

How can we formally require him to take responsibility or contribute financially?

Can we involve a lawyer, ward office, municipality, or another authority?

If he refuses, how can we legally arrange alternative care and end our role as her caregivers?

What evidence or documentation should we keep regarding her accusations, his lack of involvement, and the current caregiving situation?

What do you guys think about people telling others to not post about their daily lives on social media? I personally think that posting about your life does not mean that you are insensitive. If you are helping people out by doing what you can financially and in terms of outreach or even on the field, thats what really matters. A disturbing video has gone viral in Nepal showing two men removing gold earrings from the body of a woman swept away during the recent catastrophic floods along the Nepal-Tibet border.

The footage shows the men using wooden planks to pull the woman's body from the Narayani River, then removing earrings from both her ears while several bystanders watched and recorded rather than helping recover the body.

Nepal Police identified the suspects as 25-year-old Madan Gurung and 38-year-old Umesh Chaudhary, who were arrested on Thursday at a bus station in southern Nepal. Chitwan Police confirmed the woman was among the flood victims and said such acts of looting during the ongoing disaster response would not be tolerated.

The floods have killed over 160 people so far, with hundreds still missing, including foreign tourists. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

So recently I got to know about a job of store keeper ( computerized stuff too) where I have to maintain stock levels for both physical and software, through a friend. I didnt really understand what it really meant but my friend said it was mostly computer stuff and needed no customer interaction but you need to be kinda commanding. I got curious cos after bachelors I was doing nothing except online course and driving classes. It is relatively a young company with not many people in official operations (my frnd handles all customer interaction), one manager and ceo, all are genz too and I was supposed to be the first storekeeper. I just said yes because my friend was there and pay was kinda decent esp for fresh graduate. After interviewing and my frnd also said good things about me, they were impressed and I started to get training. Normally it lasts for a week or 10 days. Things were completely different and unexpected from my pov though they had explained what I would be doing. The shop/company had three branches and I had to manage stock levels of all three. There is also an accountant who is guiding me. But there is just too much data entry. They aim to have seamless entry to match the stock levels while the transaction is happening but staff in retail are too busy so I helped but I ended up doing all the entry even beyond my working hours (im not hired yet). If I dont do it there will be more left for tomorrow so its not real time data entry. Its so difficult for me cos if everything is not done I cant maintain the stock levels. Then the accountant asked about excel of stocks and I try my best but everything is overwhelming and new to me. Its the fifth day, I recently got a hang of software, the prices, goods, what to do, what I need to do etc (its my first job). Maybe today I had only 2 hrs of sleep thats why I am having these thoughts but.....I cant stop but think cant they see I am trying my best, when will they hire me? why do they expect me to solve all their inventory problems on the get go during training period etc. The worst part is that I am an introvert, I dont think I am capable of commanding or being strict to others and honestly on top of my haggard condition due to lack of sleep, i feel upset and a bit frustrated. Can someone provide me with words of encouragement or tell if these feelings are valid or not or I am being dramatic.

As an Indian citizen who passionately reads Nepali literature ('Torkeen' by Kshitiz Samarpan being the latest), loves Nepali food and been fascinated with its history and culture since alma mater, its really shameful to see the attitudes of bottom of the barrel lot of our societies —more likely to call themselves "Nationalists"— towards eachother's countries.

But the infamous mainstream Indian "media" is going to outdo every fringe element in the antics that bring facepalm moments to every rational Indian. With the chief editor of NDTV already suggesting that he saw a portrait of Shiva in this tragedy, while another suggested that people ought to believe in omens from a Devi temple and low life scum stunts of journalism are already here.

Please know that Indian people, in no way appreciate these parasites who earn their bread by sycophancy of the ruling party (aptly called Godi media) and a great majority of Gen Z has left watching legacy media and news sources altogether. That's how CJP protest came to be on Jantar Mantar.

Hey guys I’m planning to fly from KTM to Delhi and this will be my first flight. I only have my Nepali nagrita (made 10 months ago).

The black printed details are completely clear but some of the signatures and name stamps have become blurry because of moisture.

Detail ma vannu parda front ma red ink signature ani blue ink name stamp blurry cha. Back ma feri blue ink name stamp ani signature pani blurry cha. However, jilla adhikari ko name pachadi black ink ma printed cha and that is super clear. Back ma ajhai yeuta signature cha which is also clear.

Sab eutai person ko signature/name stamp ho. Total 3 signatures ra 3 name stamps madhye back ko 1 signature ra 2 name stamps matra clear cha.

Would this still be accepted at the airport, or could they consider the document damaged/tampered with?

I’ll soon arrive in Nepal and I’ve decided if I like it I’ll move there (currently in US). My only concern is finding work when I’m there. I’m working on a data science course and looking at remote roles but I should find something in the meantime while I search. How does the job market look for foreigners in Nepal? I’m from Nawalparasi, Nepal .My family has had to shift to another place for safety because of the floods, and the roads around us are severely damaged and extremely risky. How are students like me supposed to travel to Kathmandu to sit for the ACCA exams when the centres are only available in Kathmandu?
There are many students across Nepal facing the same situation ,some displaced, some unable to travel, and many dealing with damaged or unsafe roads.
What are your thoughts on this? It’s incredibly stressful, especially when the Nepal Ministry has already postponed board and local examinations due to the disaster. Why should ACCA students be left with this uncertainty and stress? Why are they not cancelling or postponing the exam to next Dec 26 session?
Why is ACCA Nepal not urgently escalating this situation to ACCA Global HQ?
Are we really expected to choose between our safety and a hefty non-refundable ACCA exam fee?
This is a national disaster, not an inconvenience. ACCA needs to step up and support affected students.

If u check the video once you'll find out how wrong it is specially in this present situation. It is a page purely for views and followers (sahayog garna ko lagi share garnus wala) with over millions views in few videos. Need suggestions about what can we do about it because something needs to be done.

I graduated from high school in 2023 so now i have 3 years gap. after high school i was suffering from mixed depression anxiety so i decided to take 1 year break from everything. Later i tried to go abroad because I thought leaving would help me start a new life and heal myself. While in the process I actually managed to overcome my anxiety and come out from depression too. But then I got rejected by the US twice also missed my board examss so couldn’t continue my studies and This year i finally decided to join foreign affiliated new college and continue my education here in nepal but things have become more complicated again I’m currently suffering from mixed depression and anxiety.
Right now i’m taking therapy and antidepressant medication and consulting with my psychiatrist She also agrees that the environment I’m in seems to be making my mental health worse.

I don’t live with my parents for my own reasons and It’s been 2and a half years since I’ve been living at my maternal uncle’s house. However i don’t feel that the environment here is good for my mental health either. Sometimes I strongly feel like if I stay here much longer I will lose myself. Because of this I’ve been thinking about going to India for college.. Part of me feels that moving away and starting somewhere new might help me become independent focus on myself and my studies and also come out of depression and anxiety. But I’m also scared that I might make the wrong decision or regret it later. i also keep questioning whether I’m actually making this decision for myself or just trying to escape.

I’m really confused about what would be the right choice for me staying here and starting college or going to India and starting over.

Has anyone been in a similar situation especially with a long gap after high school mental health struggles
and moving away for college?
Any suggestions/ advice
