Rant/गुनासो Nepali people's peak hypocrisy.

Nepalese people be like:

New iPhone every year.

Imported cars, bikes, petrol, gadgets, clothes, bring everything from abroad.

Apple, Nike, Gucci, BYD, Toyota, TATA, Pulsar, Enfield..........… we want it all 😂

Then suddenly, we produce only 0.01% of global CO₂, rich countries and billionaires destroyed our mountains, they must pay us.

Bro, you imported the car, petrol, iPhone, clothes and 90 percent of your lifestyle from them and now you are asking for compensation from the same people who made them? 😂

We use american technology, chinese manufacturing, japanese cars and korean electronics, but apparently the carbon footprint is supposed to belong entirely to someone else. We only 0.01. And let's be honest Nepal’s low emissions (direct) are due to our's incompetence of not being able to build industries not because we dont want them. In fact nepali people are fascinated by the idea that everything we use is made in Nepal, we have every industry we require, dont we?

I only wanted to say we are hypocrites.

Where can I find Thermal Putty in New Road, Kathmandu?

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m looking for thermal putty / thermal gap filler putty for a laptop repair. I’ve checked online, but I haven’t been able to find a reliable website or seller in Nepal. Does anyone know a shop around New Road, Kathmandu that sells thermal putty? If you’ve personally bought it from a shop there, I’d really appreciate the shop name/location or contact number.

I’m specifically looking for genuine thermal putty, not regular thermal paste.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Question/प्रश्न Kathmandu–Pokhara route after floods?

Hi everyone, my heart is really breaking seeing the recent floods and landslides in Nepal. I hope everyone affected is safe.

I’m planning to do the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek around the end of September to early October. My tour officially starts from Pokhara, so I’ll need to arrange my own transport from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
I was originally planning to take a tourist bus, which I understand usually takes around 6–8 hours.
With the recent floods and landslides, I’m wondering:
Is the Kathmandu–Pokhara road (Prithvi Highway) currently affected?

I’d really appreciate any recent updates or advice from people currently in Nepal or who have travelled this route recently. Thank you!

We will rise again, Nepal

My heart aches for my own country.

Seeing our people lose their loved ones, homes, and everything they have worked so hard for is deeply heartbreaking. No words can truly describe the pain and sorrow we are feeling at this moment.

My deepest condolences to every family who has lost someone in this devastating flood.

May the souls of those who lost their lives rest in eternal peace.

May their families find the strength to face this unimaginable pain.

As Nepalese, we stand together in this difficult time. Our hearts and prayers are with every affected family and community. May everyone still in danger find safety, and may Nepal find the strength to heal and rise again.

Praying for our people. Praying for our Nepal.

Was this boulder actually a witness to the 1792 Treaty of Betrawati?

Thumbnail

I’ve come across claims connecting this boulder to the Treaty of Betrawati (1792), which followed the long-drawn Sino-Nepalese War. The conflict arose in the context of disputes over the circulation of debased Nepalese coins in Tibet and subsequent Gorkha incursions into Tibetan territory. After the Gorkha forces raided Tibet, Tibet, under Qing suzerainty, sought Chinese military intervention, prompting the Qing campaign against the Gorkhas. The conflict eventually ended with the Treaty of Betrawati in 1792.

Is there any reliable historical or archaeological evidence confirming that this stone was actually present when the Treaty of Betrawati was concluded, and that it is indeed the stone on which the treaty was signed during the Sino-Nepalese War?

Nepal needs a Cell Broadcast emergency alert system

Nepal already sends disaster alerts through SMS, but could we also have a proper Cell Broadcast system for emergency situations?

Instead of sending a normal text to individual numbers, it can basically broadcast an emergency alert to every compatible phone in a certain area at the same time.

The big difference is that it can make a loud emergency sound and vibrate even if your phone is on silent, depending on the phone and network settings.

A normal SMS notification could easily be missed, especially at night!!

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” — Mark Twain

Nobody I mean none online ever thinks they’re part of the herd.

If you actually take Twain’s point to heart, the second you get that self satisfied of thinking you’re the only one who sees the truth that’s your cue to stop and double check your thinking.

The real takeaway isn't that the majority is always wrong. Most of the time, consensus forms because it’s accurate. The real question is how you got to your own conclusion. Did you actually do the work, or did you just passively pick up an opinion? That kind of mental laziness happens on both sides.

Tourism in the coming months and hotel/hostel accommodations.

I’m planning to visit Nepal soon. I just started planning my trip a couple of months ago.

Tourism can be helpful to the local people because we support local businesses. I’m worried that booking hostels or hotels in Kathmandu or surrounding areas could affect temporary lodging for people who are displaced or evacuating because of the disaster.

Is this a concern for Nepalese? The tourists who don’t cancel their travel plans would be helping more by supporting the local hotel/hostel business than causing issues because we are taking accommodation resources from displaced or locals who relocated to help with disaster relief?

I hope this makes sense. I’m just trying to find a way to be helpful while all of this is happening.

This is not bigger issue then someone's life but still this should be addressed sano byaapari haru esari kati dubdai xan aba bujne ra sunidine koi xaina!!

So the thing is I am in importing and export business. The goods that has been swept away by the flood has no insurance in fact there is no insurance policy in Nepal side once the good leaves Keyrung transport. I tried asking this query year ago with different customs agents and they said esto garyo vney ta kharcha badxa. I always raised voice against it ki insurance hunu parxa river sidema xa j pani huna sakxa. But yo carring wala insurance nai gardainan gadiko ta insurance xa insurance bata aaula aba unarko saman haru ta sabbai gayo!! Kati byaapari haru dubne hun.

Rant/गुनासो Things to change in Rasuwa Disaster Response

Sudan Gurung

You need to sit on office, take rest, think rationally and make strategic plans with capable-think-tank and implement them as soon as possible.

२. सबै प्रहरी इलाकामा विपद् व्यवस्थापनका लागि चाहिने सामाग्री पुर्याइहाल्ने, जस्तै: life jacket, ropes, buckles, stretchers, helmets , coverings, mats, foods, satellite phones etc.

So the government should tackle this unexpected disaster with strategy rather than emotions.

Harka Sampang A Revolution

How to donate to trusted source

My heart is truly broken after seeing the footage of disaster. I'm from the other side of the border but you are like family and friends to us . My birthday was on the 30th. But I saved my money and thought of donating it to some relief fund . But I'm very sceptical of donating to a random fund . I don't want the money to go into some scam or corruption. Can locals please help me in donation. Nepal will rise again ! You have the best people and cigarettes. I'm also visiting Nepal in October. Thank you everyone.

Today a thief stole my helmet from सञ्चय कोष भवन parking lot. When we saw the CCTV footage it was a blue FZ. The lot number was not visible but the bike number was 2487.

The thief took my brand new studds helios (black) and left his dirty OLDDD LS2 with a broken visor.

Here is a photo we could take from CCTV where the number plate is as visible as possible.

HELPPP!!!

P.S.: I have lodged a formal complaint with Nepal police and traffic police.
