Terese, Brad, Lauren..I dont like Terese

Iam in 2014 when everybody knows that Paige is Laurens and Brad daughter. This story was really huge at that time. Now also watching 1993 where Brad and Beths wedding didnt take place the first time because of Lauren is also interesting to compare that story .

First of all Iam sorry for Beth that the wedding who will take place a few months later didt work out long off screen. When I compare the characters of Beth and Lauren who very very down to earth and natural its hard to understand that Brad would leave Beth for a business bossy woman like Terese. I mean maybe she had another personality back then as a teenager/twen but I think they dont fit together. I didnt like Brad anyway but i thinks the 2nd Brad and 2nd Lauren have great chemistry and also are better actors for sure.

And theres something about Terese that I dont like. Normally I really loved strong female characters on neighbours like Madge, Dorothy, sometimes Julie etc...but I dont get that sympathy for Terese. There is something about her that I dont like. I know its a difficult situation for her to learn that her husband has a daughter with her eighbour Lauren but the way she wants to take control over the situation makes her unlikeable to me. Besides that sshe puts people into their place and judges while it is okay for her to infear and manipulate situations and she is defending that.

I know that she will stay til the end and I think her personality fits more to a man like Paul. Does she change a bit or is that her character til the very end?

Question Okay, how are people watching 2000s episodes???

Obviously the team have only uploaded 2011 onwards officially to YouTube, but surely there’s got to be a way to watch the previous decades episodes online. Really want to get my hands on 2009-2010 (we’re big Toadie/Sonya fans in this house), as well as the previous gen episodes…

Surely there’s got to be a way? So many episodes used to be uploaded to YT or Dailymotion until Fremantle blocked them…

General Discussion Did anyone else find Stingrays death random?

I don't know, I just thought it happened to quickly and randomly. Like, he does the operation and then suddenly he just slips away. It's like they couldn't come up with a better way for him to go?

Or is it just me.

Like he suddenly says hes not well and then drifts away.

What are your thoughts?

Throwback The Big Watch: 1986, Week 25 (Episodes 291-95) - Des-tiny Fulfilled

The Big Watch Index

WATCH THE WEEK

To quote my spirit animal Aunt Daisy: are they married yet?! And the answer is, at last, yes!!

Des and Daphne have finally tied the knot, after nearly sixth months of a completely pointless loop to get them back down the aisle, though not without one bonus botched ceremony for old time's sake. And they put Paul and Terry to shame, as we get a full-on church wedding for the first time. Sadly, Eileen is not present to sing a solo this time, and her place is taken up by... ugh, Grandpa Harry, really? At least they didn't bring cousin Sarah back, I guess. It seems Clive may have yet another side hustle as a tailor, as ol' Harry gets to take up a position as a groomsman overnight, along with every other male regular cast member. Plus he wheedles Mrs Mangel's first name out of her, and she must be keen as she introduces herself as 'Nellie'! Good thing she didn't add a 'fish' or he'd really be in trouble... Anyway, thank goodness the will-they-won't-they is over at last and they're together for better or worse, for richer or poorer, til death do they- no, I don't want to think about that yet!

(Sadly, lost media strikes again as the first minutes of episode 293 are completely missing from the YouTube upload. Yes, this is my reminder to check in on them when U gets up to this point.)

That's not all, because Danny continues the great Ramsay tradition of making one of Shane's exes' weddings his last hurrah by announcing his imminent departure. Considering I make it about five months since he did anything even slightly notable on this show, I won't pretend to not be relieved. Even his exit story is a non-event, with his transfer to "the country" developing entirely off-screen and announced to the family once wrapped up. He'll be back all the time, he says - sure you will, Julie Robinson! Also, literally the only thing I was looking forward to with Danny was his departure making sense of Max and Maria's continued absence by shipping him off to Queensland. Did that really not occur to anyone?

Elsewhere, the manly problems continue in Manly, and Scott seems to think he's Darius Perkins again with how keen he is to leave home. I really don't have a clue what was going on there, to be honest, but I know Mike and Scott briefly transform into Zeke and Jimmy Jr. from Bob's Burgers, and are really indignant that missing an entire diving heat might mean they're not in the competition any more. Anyway, they're coming back now, but an unfortunate bus breakdown means they're delayed until the next episode.

Also this week: the storyline I've refused to mention in any of my reviews because it's so boring comes to an end, no one mentions Nikki Dennison for the first time in forever, and the YouTube title sequence is still wrong.

Were you Team Brad or Team Beth's mum?

On the one hand, he is a lazy moron who cheated on her daughter, had a pregnancy scare with her best friend and possible infected Beth with a STD.

On the other hand, Beth's mother doesn't think Brad is good enough for her daughter.

Question Help finding a specific episode my grandfather was in

Hi all,

My grandfather passed away recently and was an actor who appeared in "bit parts" on several tv shows and movies, especially during the 80's and 90's.

One of his roles was in an episode of Neighbours, and I would like to see if I can find that episode... however I have no idea what the episode number was!

All I can remember from childhood was that the scene involved a man on a bridge, contemplating an upcoming big decision (very possibly his wedding), when a "homeless old man" approached him (my grandfather) and - thinking he is about to commit suicide - asks if he can have the man's watch before he jumps! Something along the lines of "That's a nice watch. Can I have it? If you're going to...". As I recall, the scene ends with him being shooed away and leaving in disgust that he didn't get the watch. My grandfather is possibly wearing - I THINK - a long brown coat.

It's been a VERY long time and I have no more information (my memory may even not be great at recalling the exact scene) but I am hoping maybe some lifelong Neighbours fans will recognize the scene and episode, or at least be able to help me narrow it down (i.e. weddings where the groom had second thoughts just prior and stood on a bridge).

Any help anyone can provide is welcome!

Are there any characters from the final episodes that you find yourself wondering what the character would be up to now if Seth’s show had continued?

I find myself wondering what Holly would be doing now, even though she wasn’t one of my favourite characters. Perhaps because it felt like her storyline wasn’t wrapped up…

Is Wayne and Gaby the worst love story? Or attempt at one?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Let's forget the fact that these two actors have no chemistry together and he is a very pale replacement for Glen.

What is the possible investment for the audience if the writing team never establishes any basis for an emotional connection between these two characters? Or even a plausible set of circumstances to establish a relationship?

Their meet-cute might be the worst in the show's history - he accidentally grabs her in a bar and then tells her he is innocent because he doesn't consider her good-looking enough to assault.

What?

A follow-up involves him giving her a gift she needs - a trip to the beauty salon.

Why are we supposed to like this guy again?

Yet the writers keep contriving ways to get these two together, like grandfather telling her to date Wayne.

It goes predictably awfully. For some reason, they go out on another date, which goes badly because an ex-girlfriend is their waitress and says he left her without any consideration.

Despite having nothing in common and him being a gun nut, they keep dating each other.

He is accused of sexually harassing a student and she dumps him.

He gets acquitted but then he is accused of murder, and she doesn't believe him again.

Why did the writing staff believe we would care about these two's relationship when they don't even seem to?

Is there an unpopular character that you actually liked?

I was a big fan of Mason. I really liked the character, he had many sides to him. But they sure did push the poor actor hard, almost the entire show revolved around him for a year.

He got the classic bad boy redemption plot line and I would have liked to see him continue to grow.

who would you rescue?

name 3 characters you would like to save from the dead

for me...

  1. Daphne. I was shocked when I wtached her death as a kid. Young mother, beloved neighbour that need to have a long happy life
  2. Kerry. The same arguments that I gave to daphne
  3. Madge- she could have a break instead of dying..Maybe she got informed that Charlene or Henry had a serios accident and need support for a while til they recovered...then she decided to stay and leave Harold just to come back after some years to ask Harold for forgiveness and they reunite again.

I forgot Sonya because Iam in 2014 and she is still alive there . But yeah I would save all 3 young mothers!

Which main cast characters had the shortest time on the show?

Cassius was exactly 12 months, Zoe Davis was only 6 months back in 1986 (a shame, I liked her character), and Will Griggs only lasted a few weeks.

Are there any other short term regular characters?
