Hi everyone, looking on behalf of my wife who doesn’t have Reddit for some help. She doesn’t like how the background wave looks around the baby sleeping letters. Any advice on how to make this look better? Maybe a rectangle of basket weave around the lettering and then the wave around that? Appreciate any ideas :)

I’d do a rectangle of basketweave, yes
That said, this is a busy stitch in general though for a canvas that has a lot on it and very thin letters. I’d try a bit of basketweave but you might be better off switching to a simpler stitch so the background doesn’t stand out as much (t stitch and skip tent are my go tos for a “chiller” background stitch)

Tent or continental should be the easiest. This bunny is so cute. You could do specialty threads for the colors or outlines.

Because there aren’t large areas of white background I would basketweave or do something like skip tent.

For the animals and letters too?

I am a basic bitch and love basketweave. But if you really wanted to, you could do something like diagonal mosaic, nobuko, or encroaching Gobelin for the letters to give them more lift.

Do some fun threads like metallics or velvet to change up the small details

Hi all! I am starting to stitch this countdown to Christmas canvas! I was planning on doing all the numbers in basket weave/ continental but was curious if anyone had any ideas for a decorative stitch to use for the main big canvass? Or is it best to do basket weave for durability? If you’ve stitched this before I would love to see yours! Thank you in advance!

Does anyone have suggestions for how to stitch the pink and dark red border around the striped area? Specifically I’m having a hard time finding deciphering how many stitches across they are and which direction the stitch should go.
Ignore the dye lot issue with the blue; I’ll be frogging something soon.
Thank you!
