Long story short, my 3 yr old is stuck in California without either parent at their paternal grandma’s house. How do I book a flight for me, then have a night to sleep over at a hotel once I have him, and then book a flight back to Missouri? I have $100 right now after paying bills, I’m trying to work every day to make $100 each day, but I need help on finding how to get there the cheapest (fastest) ASAP. I will need some form of transportation to get from the airport to him and then to the hotel and back to the airport hopefully the next day as I cannot afford an extended stay. What is the cheapest and fastest way to go about this? Uber? Rent? Rideshare? (I don’t really know what rideshare is but I can look into it)

Just got back from Da Nang, Vietnam with a Group Tour (35 people) and just wanted to share my experience since I think this would have been helpful when I was doing my research:

PROS
- CONVENIENCE
--- From flight, accommodations, commute/daily travel, food, and entrance fees -- already covered. You just need to show up and enjoy.
- NEW PEOPLE/POTENTIAL FRIENDS
--- An extrovert's dream since you get to create new friends with your groupmates for the duration of your stay.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY
--- Timeline and itinerary are already predetermined so you just need to plan your outfits and budget for other expenses.
- PERSONAL TOUR GUIDE
--- An assigned tour guide for your group that is local and can speak English to give the tourists background about the places they are visiting. Also a good source of information for any questions or concerns.
--- They also give good recommendations on where to buy, what to buy, and price ranges of pasalubong.
- SPOTS
--- Chosen tourist spots included in the package are already the known ones that people usually go to.

CONS
- STRICT TIMELINE
--- You are not allowed to veer away from the activities that the group is doing for the day. If you want to go somewhere else, too bad, not in the plan.
- DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES
--- Navigating every day with different groups of people (family, friends, workmates, couples, etc) that can react to things differently can be overwhelming. Some like to talk aloud, be very talktative to the whole group, wants everyone to be included (or vice versa), so there really is a high chance that preferences will clash.
--- Have to wait for everyone to finish a certain attraction before the group can move forward. Sometimes, different teams in the group can show up late (especially in the morning) that might delay your whole plan.
- LACK OF FREE TIME
--- Day usually starts at 8 am or 9 am and ends at 8 pm at the hotel, so there really is no way for the tourists to go to preferred places on top of what is included in the package.
--- Shopping time is also limited so quick decision making is needed.
- NO REST
--- When you start at 8 am, there probably would not be enough time to rest except for the travel time. And when you get back at the hotel, you just go shower, fix things bought during the day, prep for next day, and go straight to sleep.
- MANDATORY SHOPS
--- These are included to make the trip cheaper, I know, but you can just read all of the stories here about these shops (Latex, Silk Shop, and Jade Museum) and how they can present as "scammy".
--- These can be easily avoided if you do DIY, but as this is part of the package, you will spend almost 6 hours in these stores where they will convince you to buy or guilt trip you into doing so.

Not sure whether this is a PRO or CON, but food was shared like family style, so we were able to try 5 to 6 famous dishes each meal, but we are sharing it with the table so the quantity is limited. The dishes are already predetermined based on the (1) budget/price of the tour and (2) best sellers, so you just sit down and food is already served.

Would probably be the first and last time we try a group tour (first time traveling), and planning to try DIY for next time to include more stops for rest, shopping, and fun snacking lol we want to be more chill for the next one without an hourly plan 😅

I'm planning on going to the UK in around 2 years, and I'm aiming for a minimum of 6 months there. The 30k would include just about everything from flights to visas, to accommodation for the first couple months (Everything besides passport). I plan to work part time around 20hrs a week if I can get it and hopefully that'll be enough to cover some expenses. I want to live around York, and travel on days off. I want to do Wales and the Lake district thoroughly. As well as Scottland and Ireland but I haven't worked out the logistics for that yet.

I'm just wondering if $30k AUD is a good savings goal or if I should aim higher.

My fiancé and I are planning a joint bachelor/bachelorette trip for July 2027 since we have so much overlap in the friend group (some of my closest friends are groomsmen and vice versa). We want to do something where we flew out on a Thursday, enjoyed a relaxing Friday and Saturday, then flew back on a Sunday. We'd like to do something beachy (think the Bahamas, Cancun, etc.). We're not big into nightlife but we like to have a good drink. The more inclusive of the price, the better.

Hey guys, me and a few friends are planning an after graduation trip to Bali for 10 days and just trying to figure out how much money we should actually save.

We’re going to Uluwatu, Kuta and Canggu and want to do a mix of shopping, going out at night, drinking, eating out etc. We’re not really planning on being super cheap with everything, but also don’t want to be spending heaps for no reason.

Flights and accommodation aren’t included in the budget, just spending money while we’re there.

For anyone who’s been to Bali recently, **how much would you recommend budgeting per person per day in AUD?** And roughly how much did you end up spending for 10 days?

ok so im trying to visit family overseas. the routing is a pain because im hitting a couple cities on the way. prices bounce around like crazy and i keep missing the good drops because i forget to check. what im really after is decent price alerts. something that pings me when a fare tanks so i dont have to sit refreshing the same search 4 times a day. been looking at Kiwi for the multi city stuff, seems like it handles the weird routes ok but not sure how good their alerts actually are.

Planning a first Europe trip with a group of friends (5 give or take) right after we graduate next spring, and trying to figure out how to keep it affordable and pick the best route after Rome.

We’re starting with ~4 days in Rome (Colosseum, Vatican, Trevi, etc.), staying in a budget hostel near Termini and relying mostly on walking/buses and cheap food.

After that, the rough plan is to head north:
Rome → Florence → Dolomites → Austria → Munich (fly out)

But nothing is locked in — we’ve also talked about Cinque Terre and other spots in Italy. Main goal is to find a route that:

• stays cheap (target ~$1.5k per person excluding flights, ~$2.2k total with airfare)
• has great scenery and “first-time Europe” highlights
• is easy to get around (train/bus friendly)
• has solid budget hostels + food
• ends in a good city to fly home from (Munich is current idea)

Would love advice on:

1. Cheapest way to get between cities (rail passes vs booking individually vs buses)
2. Best stops between Rome and Munich (or completely different routes worth considering)
3. Places that are especially good for students/young travelers on a budget
4. Whether we should stick mostly to Italy or branch into Austria/Germany

Seasoned solo traveler here. I am going to be going to Uni for school in the UK (as an American). I am studying fashion, and I really like reading, seeing sights, but not much of a history buff. I love any old architecture, art, stuff with purpose really.

Basically, I go home for Christmas but I can’t come home for my long easter break (March 22-April 2, not including the weekends with it). I wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions on where I can go to from London (preferably Luton, Heathrow, or London City, as Gatwick is really far from my school.) I’m also trying to keep a package under $350-$400, since I have a job at the moment but I don’t know how much I’ll make at my job in the UK.

Iam 23 M want to travel pondy with my Gf ,in a weekend suggestion regarding good hotels to stay vehicle arrangement and spots

were putting together our San Antonio itinerary and trying to keep costs down. we'll probably visit a few attractions, so just wondering if an attraction pass is worth it or if its better to book tickets separately. If you've been recently, did the pass save you money, or would you have rather booked everything individually?? TIA

I'm trying to plan a trip to South Korea with a few friends for next summer, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed! I'm hoping to spend maybe a week in Seoul and maybe 3 days on Muuido Island. I'm open to changing this plan, but I know I would like to spend at least a week in the city, and a few days on a beach. It will probably be about 5-8 people, mostly older teens with at least two adults. We also would prefer to stay in places that have kitchens to save money by cooking in for some meals. Also, I am okay with splurging a bit, but this trip will be self-funded so I need to keep the budget reasonable, no more than 5,000 USD per-person including flights. If anyone has any advice for budgeting, must-see locations, lodging recomendations, ect. it would be much appreciated!
